Did this come out on TV in the wake of the hit film Top Gun?

I loved that series. 'Reaching for the skies' was another and I remember that i was allowed to stay up late to watch it

The BBC used to do some really good aviation programs like covering the Farnborough Airshow and this live Noel Edmonds Concorde Special from 1989

Why don't they make programs like that anymore?

i loved 'reaching for the skies'! and anthony quayle's voice was so ~~sexy~~ authoritative.
