Rouen's 6th bridge
Rouen actually builts the biggest and highest lift bridge of Europe (a motorway), by Aymeric Zublena, architect of Stade de France and Istanbul Olympic Stadium, and by Michel Virlogueux, architect of Pont de Normandie. The lift bridge have the particularity to have 4 slim towers of 90 meters which will make the structure less heavy to watch, also towers will support 2600 tons, it is a record. We expect that 55 000 cars and trucks will run every day on it after its inauguration, projected in december 2006, the total cost will be 270 millions euros :

BTW, Michel Virlogeux is not an architect, but an engineer! He designed the Normandy bridge, the Millau viaduct, the Vasco de Gama bridge in Lisboa and many other huge bridges in the world (and he was my professor, 3 years ago
)
