Hello there! It's my second post at this area of the forum. I want to present you our stadiums.

Fonte Nova Stadium (Bahia) - 85.000

Mineirão Stadium (Cruzeiro and Atlético Mineiro) - 80.000 - Now it's all-seated

Morumbi Stadium (São Paulo) - 80.000 - Now it's all-seated

Maracanã Stadium (Botafogo, Flamengo and Fluminense) - 75.000 - Now it's under reform, but is all-seated yet.

Arruda Stadium (Santa Cruz) - 65.000

Castelão Stadium (Fortaleza and Ceará) - 65.000 - This one looks like a lot with Maracanã, but it's veeery newer, and smaller too. All-seated.

Ilha do Retiro Stadium (Sport) - 40.000 - This was the unic stadium at Brazilian Northeast in FIFA World Cup'50. And it's my team stadium

Pacaembu Stadium (São Paulo Gov., Corinthians plays in here) - 40.000 - Now it's all-seated.

São Januário Stadium (Vasco da Gama) - 40.000

Palestra Itália Stadium (Palmeiras) - 30.000

Baixada Arena (Atlético Paranaense) - 26.000 - all-seated (This is actually one of the most modern brazilian stadiums)

Laranjeiras Stadium (Fluminense Training Ground) - ?? - This is one of the classics brazilian stadiums, and was in the '50 World Cup.

I took all the pictures from StadionWelt.de, so not all of them is actual.

they are all old, i hope all of them(exept maracana) goes down for giving space for new ones for the world cup 2014

Oh yeah. We have only 3 new stadiums (I say new as modern, useble at World Cup): Baixada Arena, Castelão and Belém's Olímpico. Maracanã is under reform to be able to World Cup. Morumbi and Mineirão is not so modern, but they have a good infraestructure, so I think they'll be used on WC.

In Rio, a new stadium is under construction: João Havelange. It will be used for Pan-american Games, in 2007, and certainlly will be used on WC too.

I think cities like São Paulo, Recife, Salvador, Porto Alegre and Brasília deserves new and modern stadiums. We have still 8 years to construct them.

I'm not certainy even those 3 could be used as they are now as Baixadas only is 26K capacity (even extended on the final side I'd guess it would be under 35 k) and Castelão has the stands along way from the pitch.

Is the cash going to be their for say 10 new stadiums? I spose the advanatge you have over the likes of Portigal and Japan is that you've got loads of teams who could regularly fill 40K stadia.

Maracana big stadiums, but the construction is old and bad. Downstairs is not a good place to watch the match

My city has more than 2 million people living here.

We have few, but very good areas for sports.

In football, Volleyball, Basketball, Swimming, we have some of the bests teams in Brazil.

What do you think about our venues?
Remember! We were a third world country and dont had a lot of money and investment, like USA, Europe, China or Japan.

I think it'll be good if Brazil does host the 2014 WC as everyone already seems to accept - virtually all those stadia need some serious renovation and the tournament would provide a good reason to open the purse strings.
