Must-visit places in Vietnam

Hi,

I intend to travel to Vietnam to understand her architecture. What are the must-see architecture-worthy places in Vietnam?

The anti-communist are losers. It's understandable about their pathetic behaviors of constantly taking cheapshots here and there.

Wow....scary...don't get me wrong but those are the places that some of the tours offer in the package....What's wrong with going to see his death body? or the hole in the ground where we used to fight against our enemy. I thought we are proud of those places...I have been to those places and I just want to pass on to other to check out...what's wrong with that? I guess I don't have any permission to talk about my uncle since I am not his "chau ngoan" then....sorry...man, it's so hard to please everybody in here.

I do not appreciate the tone that you implied in these posts. Seriously you're already mature, maybe you should act more like it. I'm fed up with the facts that every threads in this forum is turned a political debate. I'm SO fed up with Vietnamese Overseas who do nothing but bashing Vietnam, posting pictures that try to "reveal the truth" of Vietnam ends up propagating more lies. There are differences between having constructive criticism and bashing something nonsensely. It's funny that ONLY in this forum, you see people degrading and ridiculing their own countr. They should at least do it approriately under a debate thread instead of dragging it to almost every thread.

Yea, you practiced your freedom of speech by alluding to "HCM sh.it house" when answering to a person who sincerely asked Vietnamese members in here to give tips and advices where he/she should explore in Vietnam. It's not about lecturing, it's about common sense and a little bit of courtesy... just a little bit

This is not only a construction forum, it serves also as a small "Embassy" of our country. Other ppl looks into this forum and get to know not only buildings here and there but also to understand Vietnamese culture and lifestyle. Others might not even care bout buildings. Many has came and quoted: "Oh, i didn't know there is a Vietnam forum here! Let's take a look and see what they're talking about" Needless to say we're painfully in need of moderation, toleration and self-control from our fellow members.

@Sat_Cong: What do you think you could do for our homeland's image by presenting HCM's shit house and his dead body (not at the same place) as a must-see destination??

Shame on you!

You and other overseas "democracy activist" are actually drawing back the democracy process in Vietnam, do you know that? Vietnamese inside the country look into you and your rubbish as non-stop basher then turn their back to everything named "democracy", do you know that?

Next time give yourself a thought before doing anything like this. Better be the last time before someone report it to the mods.

@bang: I need translation.

Saigon_Monsooner---I thought those are our historical landmarks?!?!?!....I don't know about you guys, but I am myself proud of them.....maybe you want to teach me how to say it right niext time huh.....See..I thought about telling him/her the reality of our country like: beware of your wallet, don't trust all the sweet talk of the bauties, practice safe sex..bring the condoms, make sure things you buy are real, or don't give money to the baggers cuz they can jump you by a group...if you want to give make sure others don't see, if you ride bikes watch for "yellow ants" and "green monkeys", make sure you bargain to 1/3 of the "telling the truth price"...etc...but I thought these things may offended someone or doesn't look good for our country, so I told him/her to see places of our great uncle...and you still don't like it...what the hell should I do?....get a permission of what to say before I post....damn...it's hard to please everybody.

And i think you misunderstood Freedom of Speech too. First, it wasn't made to promote any misconduct. Like any freedom in this world, there are always conditions along. A dictator cannot have freedom of politics coz he could harm many ppl with that freedom. It applies consistenly when it is appropriate and necessary to achieve its goal.

And when you said "so suck it up if you don't like my post" and tell him not to 'lecturing' you, you are blatantly violating wantuhoa's freedom of speech.

Monsooner - Go back and read from the begining, pal....did he/she violate my freedom of speech first or I did? I didn't jump in and started to tell other what to do, did I? I don't recall steping on anyone's tail. You can talk all you want, but don't direct me..by doing that, you just violated my right...you can only direct me if I commit a crime which I don't think so... now, by calling a restroom/toilet a shit house is not a crime; calling a lifeless body a death body...that's not a crime either.....and by the way, why bother talking to losers?

Nobody tell you to shut up or to get out of the forums. However, we do expect a bit of respect and courtesy. This thread is not by anyway meant to be a political debate, yet you still bring it over. Again, all we want is just to respect and have a bit of courtesy. It's not hard if you want create a political debate in this forum instead of sabotaging this thread started by a non-Vietnamese who wants to explore Vietnam.

Đâu có đ̣i hỏi bao nhiêu đâu?

Enough with the rubbish. Although I agree that we should not bash communism at every opportunity, I believe it is wrong to think that if you're bashing the communist regime then you're bashing Vietnam.

I do not recognise this regime and I don't think it is the best representative of the will of the people of Vietnam. Any government that is short of being Democratically elected by the people is not a legitimate regime.
