United Arab Emirates: 1 hour, 22 minutes ago ![]() Maher Aujan, Managing Director, Rani International, and P.R.S. Oberoi, Oberoi Global Chairman, at a signing ceremony held in Dubai. The development will deliver 900,000 square feet of additional space to Dubai in the last quarter of 2008. One of the towers will be a world-class luxury hotel with 250 rooms and 40 furnished apartments to be operated by the Oberoi Group, while the second tower will be offered for corporate offices. The partnership between Rani International and the Oberoi Group, one of the world's leading luxury hotel and resort operators, marks a milestone as the first Oberoi-branded property in the UAE, an event whose significance was made clear by the presence of the Oberoi global chairman, P.R.S. 'We're confident that this project will contribute to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to continue to attract the world to the emirate,' said Aujan. 'Business Bay, upon completion, will prove a new economic hub, and Rani International's development will be the gateway into that hub.' Designed by international firms headquartered in Singapore and South Africa, the Business Bay towers will truly stand apart from the crowd. In particular, the Oberoi-branded hotel, will set a new standard for luxury in the Emirate. Rani International, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Aujan Group. Founded more than a century ago, the Group's holdings include the Aujan Industries, bottler and distributor of confectionaries and soft drinks (including brands such as Rani, Hani, Vimto and Barbican). no point in creating separate threads for a tower complex like churchill... also if these are a complex with say a common podium i dont see a point in having multiple threads

Oberoi to open first UAE property
Isaac: the Oberoi-branded hotel in Dubai Business Bay will “set a new standard for luxury in the UAE. he Oberoi Group is set to open its first luxury property in Dubai after signing an AED 750 million (US $190.6 million) agreement with real estate firm, Rani International. The joint venture will see a pair of landmark 30-storey towers built at the entrance to Dubai Business Bay, adding an extra additional 275,000m² to Dubai when it opens in the last quarter of 2008. One of the towers will be a world-class luxury hotel comprising 250 rooms and 40 furnished apartments, explained Lincy Isaac, director of sales and marketing, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. The other will house offices. She said the Oberoi-branded hotel, which will be designed by international companies headquartered in Singapore and South Africa, would “set a new standard for luxury in the emirate”. Oberoi global chairman, PRS Oberoi, who has resisted developing properties in the UAE until now, said the property would “become a landmark at the entrance to Business Bay — and indeed, the new Dubai”. “Dubai is now a world-class leisure and business destination, so it is a natural fit for our groups to manage a world-class property here,” he added. Further expansion plans for Oberoi include new Oberoi brand luxury hotels in Bangalore, Goa and Gurgaon in India, Siem Reap in Cambodia and The Maldives. The construction of the 437-key Trident Hilton hotel in the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai is progressing. The hotel is expected to open in 2008. In addition, the construction of a 150-key Oberoi brand luxury hotel located next to the Trident Hilton Gurgaon will commence shortly, while a 130-key Oberoi brand hotel and 40 service apartments has been finalised near Manesar, Gurgaon District. The Goa hotel is located on a 50-acre beachfront site, while the 225-key Bangalore hotel will be built on an 8-acre site overlooking Hebbel Lake. The Bangalore hotel will be the nearest luxury hotel to the new Bangalore International Airport. Rajgarh Palace, 25km from Khajuraho, is being converted into a luxury hotel on a 60-acre site with a private lake. In addition, the company has also joined forces with the Government of Rajasthan and the Indian Railways to operate a world-class luxury train on the famed Golden Triangle route. A seven-day itinerary will take in Delhi-Jaipur-Jodphur-Jaisalmer-Udaipur-Ranthambhore-Agra-Delhi. The India-headquartered Oberoi Group currently manages 34 hotels in five countries under the Oberoi and Trident brands, including the Mena House Oberoi, Cairo, the Madina Oberoi in Saudi Arabia, the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh on the Red Sea and The Oberoi Philae and The Oberoi Shehrayar and Shehrazad on the Nile.

Rani to build Dh800m hotel in Business Bay
Dubai: Rani International, the real estate development unit of Saudi-based Aujan Group, will build its first luxury hotel in Dubai as part of its Dh800 million project in Business Bay. The 249-room hotel will be managed by Oberoi Group, an Indian luxury hotel chain. The Oberoi Centre and Office Building project, comprising two 30-storey towers, is scheduled to be completed in the last quarter of 2009. It covers 11,000 square metres and will have a total built up area of 104,000 square metres. Office space in the commercial tower will be sold on a free-hold basis, said Maher Al Aujan, managing director of Rani International. The contract for enabling works has been awarded to Dutch Foundation Company and the main contract is expected after five months. Rani International is now looking at another real estate project worth about Dh350 million. "It is going to be mixed-use between commercial and residential," Al Aujan told Gulf News. The diversified Aujan Group's portfolio includes a number of industries, including bottling and distribution for soft drink brands Rani, Hani, Vimto and Barbican. Aujan owns and operates Rani Resorts, which runs six luxury properties in the southern African region. It also has private game reserves and beach destinations on the East African coast.
