Over in Singapore, most of us only heard of Red Bull. The rest practically are unheard of.

Thai brands make top 10 lists with consumers

Each year, the Superbrands Council for Thailand, a grouping of nine industry professionals in the branding, marketing and advertising industry gives awards to company’s who have been judged to have branded products that have reached the highest levels in Thailand. Selection is based on a grading process with scores given for the brand's market dominance, longevity of its popularity with consumers, goodwill or consumers' trust in the brand quality, customer loyalty and overall market acceptance. The scoring is based on yearly market research conducted by Synovate, an international research company, that yearly polls one thousand consumers in Thailand on their brand preferences.

Past Thai winners of Superbrand status include local Thai brands such as Malee, Tipco, Baby Mild, Jet, PTT, Dusit Thani and The Oriental Bangkok.

This years recognition also includes an equal mix in the top 10 most recognized brands of both international and local brands. The five local brands are AIS, Bangkok Hospital, Bumrungrad Hospital, Naraya and Pompui. The international brands in the top 10 in Thailand are AIA, Bupa Blue Cross, KFC, McDonald's and Pepsi.

The Superbrands Thailand Organization yesterday also officially announced the coming printing of a new reference book featuring success stories of the strongest Thai brands, both international and local. The book is titled Superbrands, Thailand and the first edition is to be published by the third quarter of next year, with a planned print run of 1,500 to 2,200 copies

Funny, I could swear that JET is an American brand. But anyway, Mama and Yum-Yum are becoming ever more popular here in Germany

Yeah redbull is pretty famous . They sell in Thailand for 7 Baht while with different packaging in Europe or holland at 180 BHt. that is a huge profit margin they make.

Jaspal and chaps are also international brand from Thailand.

It's 10B in most convenience stores in Bangkok.

The same can is about 60B (or slightly less) in Singapore but then you have to factor in the export cost.
