Fotose de Iguaçú, Puerto Iguazú e Ciudad del Este

Olá!

Estes são a minha fotos de Janeiro 2006 de as Cataratas do Iguaçú e Puerto Iguazú e Ciudad del Este . Desculpe, mas os comentarios são em Inglês porque eu não falo Português bem. As fotos estão no Cityscape & Skyline pictures forum também.


Here are some pics I took in Foz da Iguaçú and the tri-border area last year. The area is located on the border between Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. The waterfalls are right on the border between Brazil and Argentina. The thread includes pics of the famous Iguaçú waterfalls taken from the Brazilian side, of the small town of Puerto Iguazú across the border in Argentina, and of Ciudad del Este in Paraguay (a few miles north of the waterfalls). I hope that you enjoy !


Starting with some photos taken on the road toward Foz da Iguaçú, travelling through the Brazilian state of Paraná:







Now to the waterfalls, a map of the area: the Brazilian side is to the left of the waterfalls, Argentina's side is to the right:

I don’t remember the name of this species, but they are everywhere in the park and are not afraid of tourists at all:

I didn’t take many pictures of the city of Foz da Iguaçú, the little I saw of it didn’t seem very interesting:

The kids on the right are parking-boys, who "guard" your car in exchange for a few reais:





Driving back to Brazil:



Despite the large, and extremely ugly, border control structure, I didn’t see a single person checking any cars there:



And now to Ciudad del Este, in Paraguay. The Paraná River, which demarcates the border between Brazil and Paraguay:



Walking on the Ponte da Amizade (translation: Friendship bridge), where tons of people were crossing the border with us (photo taken in the early morning) without being checked on either side of the border

Arriving to Paraguay: no welcome sign, no controls, no flag. There was a soldier holding a machine gun though who I didn't photograph.



The city was extremely chaotic / or vibrant (depending on your point of view), and the parts right near the border are filled with shops and stalls selling everything from cheap electronics, to fake shoes and other clothing. Electronics-shopping is particularly popular amongst Brazilians who buy in Paraguary and go back to Brazil thus avoiding the governments' high import-duties : while customs control on Paraguay’s side was non-existent from what I could tell, in Brazil vehicles were checked sporadically, but the traffic is so heavy that only minivans and other larger vehicles would be checked; foot-traffic wasn't checked at all.













Going back to Brazil by taxi we got stuck in traffic for 45 minutes to travel half a mile:

WOW, wonderful photos!! For God's sake, how ugly is Ciudad del Este!!! But, despite all this chaos, I'd love to explore this city and to visit Paraguay! Thanks for posting!

Uma curiosidade: Ciudad del este é a terceira maior zona franca do mundo, atras apenas de miami e hong kong.

Gostei muito do trhead! Me lembro da minha infância, quando ia a Foz e visitava Porto Iguaçu e Ciudad del Leste (horrível!)

Eu pensava que o lado argentino era melhorzinho, mas pelas fotos me lembrou Pedro Juan Cabballero no lado paraguaio da fronteira aqui do meu estado. Cidade do Leste é um lugar que não pretendo conhecer mesmo!
Foz do Iguaçu é uma cidade bonita, um paraíso se comparado às outras duas.

bah,cara..eu não tenho esse conceito ah,lugar tal é horrivel..(como dizem das cidades do Paraguas..)..pq na moral...a 25 de março em SP é a sucursal do Inferno olhando o conceito de beleza..e as favelas do Rio são bem piores que Ciudad del este..mas o lance eh q tanto as favelas do Rio qdo a 25 de Março e as muambas do Paraguas me atraem..heheheheh sério,sei lah pq...eu adoro a 25 de março..qdo vou lah compro muita coisa..adoro mesmo.Tb me interessmo mto pelas favelas do Rio..eh um lance impressionante..admiro o senso de organização daquelas comunidades..e tb adoro comprar muama no Paraguay..hehehe..esse lance de.." ah,isso é feio" é mto chato....eu não acho nada feio..eu acho interessante...da pra explorar um outro lado da coisa..um lance mto show mesmo.

estive em Iguaçu em 1992, adorei a paisagem, fiquei pasmado quando vcs falaram aqui que as cascatas secaram devido a seca acho k esse ano correcto?

eu acredito, pessoal não ia inventar uma coisa dessas, parece incrivel tendo em conta o volume das aguas da catarata....

urbane valeu pelas fotos! Fotos das cataratas nunca enjooam, mesmo!
Realmente houve a seca NESSE ano, durou uns 3 meses +/-, a pior dos últimos 18 anos
Era até bonito por um lado, aquele paredããão de pedra, mas por outro era triste ver aquilo tudo sem água, sem falar no calor insuportável.
Mas agora o nível tá subindo e já está numa vazão normal.
E ciudad del este...aushuas eu já to até acostumado mas é muito feio mesmo, aquele lixo na calçada, aqueles paredões de prédios...e agora com essa fiscalização, as filas tão imeeeeeeeensas, quase 3 horas de espera.
mas eu gostei das fotos, parabéns mesmo..eu queria mto tira umas, mas minha camera já era tenho que ir no paraguay compra uma hahah

Mesmo com as fotos da área nobre da cidade,ainda achei a cidade feia demais,uma zona que nem nos municípios mais caóticos das RM brasileiras se encontra.E a 25 de Março dá um esculacho estético na Ciudad del Este,sem comparação.

P.S.Falam de um jeito que até parece que só existe favela no Rio.

Sería absurdo comparar Brasil com Paraguai.... e acho que ninguém podería fazér-lo... é certo que Brasil é superior...eu sempre achei desse jeito... mas,também é certo que nao toda Ciudad del Este é feia... sim,existe o preconceito do centro,que é todo caòtico... mas,os bairros sao muito agradáveis.. lógicamente,também existem favelas...mas,o tipico bairro é agradável... Comparar Brasil como Paraguai é um despropósito...nem siquiera se pode comparar Brasil com Argentina... tenham em conta que Brasil tem 150 milhoes de habitantes e o Paraguai apenas somos 6 milhoes !!!!!...
