722 Metropolis Towers - Bacolod
722 Metropolis Towers open
![]() (pictured by Smile778, pic update Feb'07) The 722 Metropolis Towers located across Robinson's Place-Bacolod. Hailed as the first in Bacolod City to offer residential suites or condominium units, the 722 Metropolis Towers combine accessibility and convenience to its residents. Building owner Juan Gochangco said it was like a dream for him to see the 722 Metropolis Towers rising in Bacolod City and opening its doors to the public. The 74 residential suites, with a price range of not less than P 1 million, is now 30 percent sold. It took almost two years for the contractor to finish the building designed with the Negrense warmth and sensibility duly considered. Adopting the contemporary architecture, the 722 Metropolis Towers has a 24-hour station and roving security, a free form swimming pool, and sundeck. It offers an open-air scenic hallways, landscaped common areas, commercial center and offices with quality fixtures and finishing. Last edited by SugarFreak; July 16th, 2007 at 11:23 AM. |

Santuario de Bacolod
- Memorial garden, a resting place to have golf course and butterfly Haven ![]() ![]() ![]() (pictured by Smile778, pic update on March’07) HAVE you seen a cemetery and at the same time a golf course and butterfly sanctuary? If not, then this is exactly what Bacolod City will be getting as the Santuario de Bacolod is set to be established in Barangay Alijis by mid 2007. The place will just be a few minutes drive from downtown Bacolod. Santuario de Bacolod, the newest memorial garden in the city, will sprawl on a 13.6-hectare of what was once a barren land used for quarry operation. But Vladimir Gonzales, president of the Home Invest Realty Ventures Incorporated, found the place suited for a memorial park and not just an ordinary memorial park but a garden for both the dead and the living. "This park will be boasted with many activities not just for the dead but more for the living," he told mediamen in a ground-breaking ceremony on the site held Saturday morning last week. Gonzales said Santuario de Bacolod will not only have a state-of-the art crematorium center, plots for the dead, mausoleums and chapels but will also have a mini-golf course for the kids and adults alike, a butterfly sanctuary, spacious jogging, biking and walking paths, gazebos to dine, big and clean comfort rooms and wide roads ample for parking. Santuario de Bacolod will also be planted by about 1,500 trees of different species to make the ambience cool. "This is a resting place where you can visit anytime and for the living relatives to often visit their departed loved ones and at the same time can have a lot of activities inside...or they can wine and dine here comfortably," he added. Santuario de Bacolod will also be a place with celebratory feeling and colors for a mission to really celebrate life here. Santuario de Bacolod will also be another landmark in Bacolod boasting of an "elegant" entrance gate and bridge mostly made of "precious stones" because all were gathered and hauled by the people who truly used their forces. But more than that, Gonzales stressed that Santuario de Bacolod once totally completed and sold in five years time, it will definitely give the city a total of P200 million in taxes and another P200 million in commission for their hardworking agents. Gonzales also proudly said that Santuario de Bacolod will cause greater impact of livelihood in Bacolod especially to more than a hundred people they hired for the project. "So from useless piece of land, we will make this place truly a productive one soon," Gonzales also said. Inspired and convinced by the ideas, Vice Mayor Renecito Novero who guested the affair said in his speech, "This once a barren land is no doubt that will become a fountain of fortune." Bacolod is blessed by Divine hands because despite the recent controversies hounding the controversial new government center, yet another investment comes and this is Santuario de Bacolod, added Novero. He also congratulated Alijis for becoming now a haven for business establishments. Unique On the other hand, Santuario de Bacolod will also be a unique resting place among others in the country. This as Gonzales revealed that based on their solution package, any lot (plot) buyer that pays in installment basis who will be disabled for natural cause yet his or her payment is not yet completed, Santuario de Bacolod will automatically award to him or her the plot with certification of being fully paid and will also refund his or her payment. Also, Gonzales said that in Santuario de Bacolod, one plot is allowed for six interments. Meaning, anyone can but a plot but can burry up to six of his or her relatives soon, he explained, adding, plot buyer is also entitled of P30,000 interment expenses and will increase to P3,000 a year until when he or she expires. "That's why Santuario will be a unique resting place not only for the rich but also for ordinary people," Gonzales said. Last edited by SugarFreak; July 16th, 2007 at 12:29 PM. |

![]() July 18, 2007 Call center expanding in City TELEPERFORMANCE, the world’s co-leading provider of outsourced CRM and contact center services, announced its plan to expand its Bacolod site to accommodate additional accounts. Dave Rizzo, managing director of Teleperformance Philippines said that the company is looking at expanding 200 more seats bringing the number of call center seats close to 800 soon. Once all 800 seats are filled in, that would mean a total of 1,300+ jobs for Bacolod and Negros Occidental. Currently, Teleperformance is in the process of recruiting call center agents to fill-in the target 600 seats for its technical support and customer service account. Except for Bacolod, Teleperformance is also experiencing remarkable growth in its Ortigas site in Manila. According to Rizzo in Ortigas alone, the company is in need of more than 1, 000 employees just for one program and will expand by over 1,500 before the end of the year. He added that almost a dozen of new accounts are in the pipeline that the company needs to recruit for and that would mean more agents, quality analysts, reports people, mission control analysts, trainers, supervisors, ACCMs, CCMs, HR personnel, Events people, and Account Managers. ![]() (TELEPERFORMANCE AT LUXUR PLACE HOTEL, BACOLOD) Last edited by SugarFreak; July 18th, 2007 at 08:37 AM. |

Entertainment hub to expand facility, locate in Bacolod EVEN before it turned a year old, stakeholders of a local entertainment hub are mulling plans for expansion. John Paul Chiongbian, president of Dev Asia Corp. (DAC)—Paseo’s holding company—said the bullish tourism industry encouraged them to put up an additional 7,200-square-meter property to expand Paseo. Paseo, located along F. Cabahug St., Mabolo, Cebu City, sits on a 6,000-square-meter long-term leased property. Chiongbian said the development in the area will be more horizontal, which means locators have to “build their own store.” The selling price for each square meter is still under discussions, he added. Non-competing In a press interview, Chiongbian said the new locators will be carefully chosen as he assured these will be “non-competing” outlets. “There will be a family KTV, auto retailing, a photo studio, etcetera,” he said. In the next three years, he said two additional outlets will open in Cebu. The company is eyeing Talisay City and Lapu-Lapu as potential sites. He also said plans to expand in the Visayas and Mindanao areas are in the pipeline, with Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro and Davao as among the key cities being eyed. The nature of expansion, though, will have to be on partnership basis, Chiongbian said. “If we open in Davao, we may call it Paseo Davao, for example,” he said. When the issue of business name registration was raised, as there have been other establishments named Paseo, Chiongbian said “should the need arise,” the company may have to rename it Paseo Cebu to further avoid confusion. Fusion Paseo, which began operations in late February this year, is a fusion of food, entertainment and shopping centers. It caters to 31 food and beverage outlets and 100 night market stalls. The façade features five anchor stores—Off Price, Flame It, Mr. Coffee, RC Goldline and Chillout Spa and Bar. It can also hold large-scale events, like concerts and entertainment events, since it has a 2,000-seating capacity and accommodates 5,000 people when standing. Paseo will formally open on May 18. |

Auditorium construction completed
The P5 million modern auditorium beside the public market of Silay City, Negros Occidental has been completed, a press release from the city said. Mayor Carlo Gamban said the structure will be used for social and sports activities, and other public functions, as well as house the indoor basketball court and stage. He added that it will decongest the Natalio Velez Sports and Cultural Center and the adjacent Jose Locsin Cultural and Civic Center, the press release said. Roofing installation supervisor Elenito Galvan said the work was finished in seven days. The roofing took three days, and the bolting two days. Meanwhile, Gamban said his Community Mobilization and Development Program called "2 day 2 days" has helped prevent floods in the city, the press release added. The program employs jobless Silaynons on rotation basis to clean up waterways such as drainage, canals, creeks and rivers, it also said.* ON GOVT' CENTER: SP reaffirms loan of city from PNB A resolution confirming and reaffirming the loan agreement between the City of Bacolod and the Philippine National Bank for the construction of the new government center was passed by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod yesterday. The loan agreement was entered into between Mayor Evelio Leonardia, representing the city government, and PNB senior vice president Victorio Sison for PNB on February 2007. PNB has offered the city a maximum loan of P400 million but its basis of release will be the loan contract price of P395 million to be payable in 15 years at an interest rate of 3.4 percent, which according to Sison will vary depending on the T-bills rates. Those who voted in favor were Councilors Greg Gasataya, Dindo Ramos, Homer Bais, Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, Wilson Gamboa Jr., Al Victor Espino, Napoleon Cordova, Catalino Alisbo, Reynold Iledan, Roberto Rojas, Alex Paglumotan, Arturo Parreño and Marx Louie de la Rosa. Councilor Celia Flor abstained. Gasataya said they have also requested PNB for an extension of the implementation of the loan. He said this had expired in February because of an internal policy of the bank to suspend the release of the loan during the period of the election ban. He said they passed a resolution confirming and reaffirming the loan agreement between the city and PNB as required by the bank when a new set of SP comes in. Sison informed them that this is also being applied to other local governments that have pending loans with them, Gasataya said. Meanwhile, Leonardia said they will only secure a loan from one bank, whichever they start with. He stressed that the loan for the government center is not going to prejudice the delivery of basic services.*CGS |
