British Tower Blocks

Why was the original thread on here deleted? It had some very valid issues that were raised and, if I'm not mistaken, this is the correct place to raise those issues?

This means that if two tones of 20,000 and 30,000 cycles are produced, the difference-tone of 10,000 cycles may be heard, and its absence takes something away from the quality. All this is probably true, but these high frequencies are not available today. (G. A. Briggs, 1948)

Oh my goodness! I was only asking for a compromise that we had the moved link bumped once in a while. Oh well, this'll do!

Here's a link to the old one though it had grown bigger than the Jolly Green Giants Bollocks (is that just a Black Country saying?).

Once upon a time, Medo, there was a British Tower Blocks thread right here where we are now. But one day, evil forces got jealous of the thread. It was the most popular thread on the subforum and the evil forces wanted all the popularity for themselves. So they banished away the British Tower Blocks thread to the farthest reaches of Europe. With only a few hardcore forumers for company during the day and a compliant sheep to get it through the nights... But the thread was so popular, its friends campaigned ferociously until British Tower Blocks could once again return to its rightful place as King of Skylines and Photography and they all lived happily ever after. The End. Credits:Smiley face, Butterfield, Erebus555, Mr B, Schemie, Legolamb, Aladdin sane, Ineylon, Stef 17, Stephen Robinson...

It is when the thread got moved with no questions asked, just because one forumer wanted it gone. But it'll all be forgotten about soon.

Sorry for any grief/anger I caused. Believe me, the last thing I want is to be enemies with anyone here.

This thread is fine, really it is..... All I ask is that -

(a) you don't "deliberately" bump the thread so it's always at the top, the whole time. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seemed like this was happening an awful lot. Please be aware that other people need a chance to show their work and have their threads displayed prominently at the top (and on the main page). The mod team has seen this happening in other parts of SSC and it sometimes becomes a problem.

(b) you don't post 50-100 pictures every half hour. At one point, I got the impression this was happening. Okay, maybe 50-100 is an exaggeration, but it did seem like "overkill" at one point.

So once again, that's all I ask. Sorry for any grief I caused. I hope we can just put this behind us now.

Cheers

Will

Sure thing! I just wish you could have told us these things before it got moved. We're just a happy bunch of people who like to chat... and chat. But we'll try and tone it down a bit, promise. Feel free to pop in from time to time to check things are to your liking - or at least acceptable!

Since everything is all well and dandy again it's time to get this thread rolling again.

Here are some random London tower blocks I found lying in my computer.

Sorry about the poor quality of some of these pictures, also I don't know the names of some of them.

Broadwater Farm Estate towers

Edmonton Towers

Tower block skyline of East London

Same view, wider shot

Try and get more forumers to visit Skylines and Photography. Put a link to it on your signature.

For goodness sake, little boy, people know how to click on a subforum and look beneath the thread at the top - it's as simple as that! Read what it says underneath the title: "Images and photography about buildings and cityscapes." NOWHERE does it say "This is for tower block shaggers only"!!

Yes, we may be at the top quite a lot but not ALL the time. We seem to be quite popular. Oh. Deal with it. You killed your own thread too!
