Just got a game today called civilisation IV:beyond the sword
On the front cover a building looks exactly like BWP, a very popular game aswell, shows that Leeds is getting some attention atleast.

FOOTBALL fans have put the boot in to Leeds United — making them top of the league of the most HATED clubs in soccer. Amazingly, a survey reveals the Yorkshire side, who went from the Premier League to League One in three years, are loathed even more than Manchester United and Chelsea. Leeds isn't a journos dream we are vile, nasty, horrible cunts, we hate everybody and they hate us and thats just how we like it, we feed off it. |

Yes, it is BWP; but its the old design with the crown/spire. The Gherkin also features.

The international 'Council on Tall Buildings' website front page has the Kite Tower, which although has not been officially proposed, was a vision for Leeds.

Oh yeah, just seen it. Quite surprising it made it onto such a big game's cover. Anyway, here's an image of it, sorry about the size, but it's about the only way you can see it properly (to the right of the Gherkin):
![]() It does appear to be the old design though, and the height is more than a little exaggerated, as is the Gherkin's. Still wouldn't have expected that. Well done Leeds. |

Does anyone know why the green crown lights are no longer illuminated at night?
Seems a shame as they added a touch of glam to the Leeds night time skyline. |

Had a tour around Bridgewater Place on Sunday and more specifically the Eversheds offices. This truly is an impressive building, not just from the outside, but from the parking facilities to the Eversheds offices, everything is top notch. I believe Eversheds have spent circa £500,000 furnishing their offices and this truly is a spectacular place for them to bring clients. From what I was told, all new clients are now brought to Leeds for intial contract signing, despite them having offices throughout the UK and the rest of the world.
Only went as high as the ninth floor, but even from there the views are excellent and itr is easy to see the development potential of the Foundy area, Hindle, ASDA House and the bit that Jan Fletcher will someday develop. I never even realised that ASDA House is 'hollow with a kid of courtyard in the middle. I cannot imagine this ever gets any sun and is a total waste of space. The sooner that they sell the land and build three talls (taking up one themselves of course, the better). Hindle is the worst thing ever for this area of the city. I seem to remember that the feller who owns VC has bought this land, but there is no sign of anything going on. Speaking to some of the partners at Eversheds, they confirmed that KPMG are looking for more salubrious offices, but they could not furnish me with any more details. Finally, the Hilton is the wart on the arse of Leeds. It reminds me of an MFI Hi-fi cabinet lurking in the corener of a smokers living room. The building disgusts me. The sooner this carbunkle is put oput of its misery the better, even if it is replaced by an Ikea TV stand. |

![]() Maybe Civilisation IV had some Leeds involvment on the production side. A friend;s brother helped to produce a Simpsons game in Leeds and he put a caricature of my mate into a portrait hanging in Mr. Burns' manor. On release it was described by a gaming magazine as 'the worst game ever'. |

the hilton is quite nice inside, obviously it'd be fantastic if it went 5 star and moved into criterion a la manchester deansgate (i forget what the tower is called) (or even got its own shiny new tower)...but a decent modern reclad would do wonders if not...

Just completed
Hi all just completed last week on my appartment. very very impressed with the building and the appartment. It will be great when Tesco open up. Not sure how many people are living there as the carpark is very empty. Some good outlets opening up, it is promising to be a great place to be.

No matey, it says Starbucks over the door. Not that there's anything to prevent Costa opening as well.
