For foreign users who are not familiar with Korean football stadiums,

1. The official name is Seoul Worldcup Stadium and Sang-am is the name of the district where it's located.

2. Venue for the opening match of 2002 Korea-Japan Worldcup France VS Senegal.

3. Home of Korean National Team, succeededy by Seoul Olympic Stadium in Jamsil. It has been also used by FC Seoul which is the only Seoul-based football club playing in K-League(the top professional fooball league in South Korea) since 2004. FYI, FC Seoul is still under severe criticism from many K-League fans for their relocation of regional base from Anyang to Seoul in 2004.

4. It's the largest football-specific stadium in Asia seating up to 66,806 people, followed by Saitama Stadium in Japan which has the capacity of 63,718. Football-specific here means that it has no athletics tracks around the pitch.

5. Amenities
- 56 luxury suites called "Sky Box" with 6 different types(Type A∼Type F)
- 816 VIP seats
- 754 media seats

6. The roof and the supporting pillars are designed to symbolize Korea's traditinal shield kite called "Bangpaeyoun" and masts for yellow sails called "Whangpododdae" respectively.

7. This architectural beauty made it chosen among "Ten most beautiful stadiums in the world" along with other world-famous masterpieces such as Santiago Bernabeu, Camp Nou, Stade de France by an English football magazine "World Soccer" in 2003.
