I can just see this turning into the Hamilton bashing thread if nothing happens for a while. I guess there's quite a bit of work to do in order to get the place ready for the V8 streetrace next year...

Aren't they getting a new Ibis Hotel that is taller than the one in Chch (that's not exactly saying much though)?

I saw the site when I was in Hamilton last time, I think its about a few levels.

Due for completion in December 2007.

We have lots of stuff over on the Regional development thread. Most of it needs now to be put into its own appropriate city or town thread.

That new block doesn't look bad for Hamilton at all! It'll make a big difference to the "skyline".

i was one of the towercrane operators on the ibis finished with crane in august i had a gr8 time in h town nice people i got a few photos from the crane but dont know how to post em up

Find a site to host your images (such as www.imageshack.us) and then place them on the forum using the [ I M G ] URL [ / I M G ] (without the spacing).

Actually I don't think so, though I have only tried one other format - GIF - but I don't see why others wont work - BMP, PNG etc - we should test these. I'll post some updates to the Auckland thread in various formats and get back to you.

This is GIF format.

And this is PNG.

I looked at putting up a BMP but that would be 10x the size of JPG! Madness.

So JPG is by far the better format based on size, smaller than PNG and GIF.
