Longest stretch of motorway without exits

The longest I know (and a good contender I think) is in AP-2 in Spain, near Lérida, which is 47km's between exits.
This made me curious, 47km is a pretty long distance. In the Netherlands the longest stretch by far can be found on the A7: roughly 30km between exits 14 and 15 with the afsluitdike in between.

There can be different categories;

1) stretches without normal exits and junctions, excluding rest areas and toll boots.

50km, Croatia, A3 exit Nova Gradiska-Slavonski Brod
48km, France, A28 exit 15-16
47km, Spain, AP-2 exit 3-4
41km, Spain AP-36 exit El Pedernoso-Casas de los Pinos
41km, Croatia A1 exit Otocac-Licki Osik
39km, France, A837 exit 34-A10
38km, France, A61 exit 24-25
37km, France, A89 exit 17-18
33km, Portugal, A2-IP1 exit 13-14
33km, Italy, A23 exit Pontebba-Amaro
32km, France, A10 exit 33-34, 38-39
32km, Portugal,A2-IP1, exit 10-11
31km, France, A62 exit 6-7

2) stretch of motorway, without exits to local roads and 'totso's'. Excluding junctions, rest areas and toll boots.

71km, Italy, A1 between exit Ponzano Romano and exit Valmontone near Rome
51km, France, A5 between exit 18 and 19
48km, France, A28 between exit 15 and 16

3)Longest isolated motorways (not in any way connected to any other motorway)

23km, the Netherlands, A31 between Harlingen and Leeuwarden

4)Longest straight stretch:

22km, the Netherlands, A7 on the Afsluitdijk

maybe more?

Current top 3:
71km, Italy, A1 between exit Ponzano Romano and exit Valmontone near Rome
51km, France, A5 between exit 18 and 19
48km, France, A28 between exit 15 and 16

2) stretches without any posibility to stop (no rest areas etc) and no junctions, toll boots or exits.

3) stretches of different motorways combined, leaving on a junction only.

maybe more?
Not to be an ass, but I totally disagree with your definition.

What matters is the longest stretch of motorway withouth any way of getting out of it, so if there are junctions it doesn't count. Junctions are just like regular exits, but more important!
But rest areas and toll boths doesn't matter, because you can't get out ot the motorway on those ones, so they sould just be ignored.

So, it appear that the longest is still the spanish AP-2 with 47km's between the 2 nearest exits of the motorway.

That can be a category too, the longest stretches between gas stations. We could also add longest straight stretches, longest 3, 4 or 5 lane stretches, curviest stretch, etc.

The Eastlink motorway project in Melbourne will be 45km long including entrance points at each end (39km above ground) when completed sometime next year in 2008. It is Australia's largest ever construction project and on budget will cost $2.1 billion AUD ($1.8 billion USD). You can check out the official website with great info and photos: http://www.seita.com.au/html2/home/home/index.htm and the wikipedia site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EastLink%2C_Melbourne

It will have two 3-lane tunnels that are 1.5 kms long (they have already been built) and a 4 level 'spaghetti junction' at the intersection with the Monash Freeway. It continues non-stop across most of eastern Melbourne, running almost directly North-South. It has 16 major interchanges and there will be one million trees planted along the entire length of the motorway. It's big, very big, and will add a huge deal to eastern Melbourne.

but you have link to A19 and i wouldn't count it. i find it more interesting without interchanges, too. this at A28 is totaly weird because that section is brand new. i'm sure they'll make some exits.

None. Eastlink is an urban freeway which has plenty of regular exits.

In Victoria, the largest distance between exits would probably be somewhere along the M31 Hume Freeway if you forget about small roads used for property access. But even then, there's still an exit of some sort every 15-20km, and maybe one 30km stretch if you ignore the fact that a few minor roads intersect with the freeway with no proper interchange.

Those "other highways" have all exits quite close to respective intersections. It is very close to Rome, after all.
