Cirebon
here we go pics of Cirebon or short of it, I could find from internet
Cirebon  Cirebon,( Cirebon means 'River of Shrimps' and the city has a nickname 'Kota Udang', 'City of the big Shrimps' ),the first big harbour east of Jakarta, is a modest trade city with about 225,000 inhabitants. It's the only of the 16th century Jawanese city kingdoms, complete with palaces and royal families, which has survived the times. With this fact, Cirebon is the oldest royal city of the island; about three centuries older than both Yogyakarta and Solo( i even didnt know that ). Town hall, look at 4 shrimp sculpture at the buiding  Train station, those becak bikin semrawut..   BI buiding formerly javasche bank, unfortunetlly he didnt take a pic from up front bcoz its really beauty from there  St Yoseph church  BAT building  buildings up front of BAT building, somebody paints those buiding plz asap  keraton kasepuhan    Kereta kencana Paksi Naga Liman ( whats english for that ?  ),it mixed with Javanese, Chinese and islamic art unfortunetly there's no Cirebon's Modern building pics such as Mall hotel and office, but Im promise If im back I will take some pics of that,anyway thanks for www.londoh.com for these pic Last edited by wonkcerbon; August 19th, 2005 at 09:58 AM. I love the old colonial dutch architecture there.. they shud preserve it more..
especially the BI bank - javasche bank.. it's beautiful

Cirebon tradional dance, Mask dance  Keraton  Grand Mosque " Cipta Rasa " ,built by Raden Patah a muslim prince from Majapahit kingdom at 16th century  Cirebon's tradional art light, you can find these around this city  the city view, not so clear though  beach

Cirebon looks like a peaceful place to go

Beautiful thread with wonderful pics.
Ik especially love the traditional architecture. Its weird to see that strict calvinistic Dutch architecture next to that beautifully carved and decorated traditional buildings.
