I personally prefer the stadium in its current state with three tiers of seating behind the goal instead of 7 floors of skyboxes (or whatever those floors will accommodate). But I understand it, skyboxes bring in a lot more money than "ordinary" seating. I can conclude from the information at fussballtempel.net that Parken doesn't have a lot of VIP facilities.
I do have one question: why will the bottom part of the lower seating tier be retractable? For concerts? |

I btw also prefer the older version - the VIP facilities shouldn't be behind the goals. |

Wasn't the original plan to replace the stand with a replica of the other three existing stands? This new design looks really shitty in my opinion (although understandable from a commercial point of view).

Only 38.000 for football matches? Isn't that a bit small?

It's rarely sold out in Parken only when FCK is playing Brøndby and when the national team is playing against a good team or an important match. IMO it's about time that Denmark get's a national Arena in Ørestaden. Sure that also would attract alot more people to go watch the national team. |

The old stand looks way better, why replace it with this ugly design?

Because FCK and Don Ø, the former boss of FC Copenhagen, only care about money. Even that on the other hand I understand them, since Parken Sport and Entertainment, the company that owns FC Copenhagen, has had a few financial problems ![]() But I agree with you, the old stand looked a lot better, even that back stage it was quite horrible and needed to be retouched. Denmarks national team deserves a better stadium than this, a stadium with more atmosphere. I hope that one day they will build a bigger stadium in the Ørestad (at Amager) with a 50.000 capacity. Parken is getting to small now where it only has 37-38.000 seats. It used to have 42.000 and in the eighties the capacity was almost 50.000, before the restructuration

The new stand where surpose to be a copy of the eksistence 3 stands.
But since the Danish National Football asociation refused to sign a agreement that the Danish National Football team would use Parken for the next 10 -year, the company owning Parken desided in favour of the VIP-lounges. The agrument was that since Parken only would be filled 6 or 7 times a year, the expence for the big capacity was to high. I can totally understand the decision but still feel it is the wrong one because they choose money over atmosphere. VIP-lounges are soo boring. One other thing i that when the stand i complete Parken i has no other option of expansion. The seats may be hard to fill at the moment, but who can see into the future? Maybe in 10 -years the stadium is filled more often, and then they maybe have to build a new stadium in order to get the capacity the want. |

So the shouldnt take the money that better VIP facilities will bring them now, because perhaps some time in the future they might get a bigger audience? It doesnt really work that way....

Well I see your point.
I guess I'm just hopeing that FC Copenhagen will be a major international football club in the future and have crows over 40.000. I guess that in the short run it is the most wise thing to build VIP-lounges. My guess is that a spectator in a VIP lounge creates 3 or 4 times the income than a regular spectator. If a seat cost around 300 dkr. the VIP pays a least 1000 dkr. So there is no way around that FC Copenhagen will make a lot of money on this, and I'm sure that the lounges willl be filled. But still there isn't much atmosphere i VIP-lounges. Maybe FC Copenhagen will never become such a major international football club that I dream of. The danish league will always be minor and the best playes will still go the major leagues in Europe. |

Not as long as we play the current way we wont. And year the Danish league is proably to small for it to ever be really big. Besides, I doubt that will bring a much bigger audience. Look at rosenborg. If succes comes, maybe we will see it go to 30000m but I doubt we will see full house every weekend within the next 10 years. And if you do get that as a garanty, building something new in a much better place, wont be a problem....

Just went by Parken today an took a quick picture of the demolition of the old stand. Not that much to see so far from the outside:

Actually there is no more 4 or 5 stre rating
For the UEFA cup final you need a +50.000 stadium For the Cl final a +70.000 stadium
