Culture Train

THE first of four Merseyrail culture trains' has taken to the tracks, as part of Merseytravel's 08 sponsorship package.

The first train emblazoned in the 08 livery departed from Rock Ferry station last week - showcasing the Creative' element of the Look of the City branding.

The branding - or train wrap' - has been specially commissioned through the Culture Company and designed by Liverpool agency Finch, to reflect aspects of the city's creative life.

Three more trains with heritage, maritime and sport themes will take to the tracks over the next few weeks.

Merseytravel is an official partner of European Capital of Culture

That looks really good. It's good to see the official sponsors becoming involved, and 'doing their bit'. It's a shame the same paint-job couldn't have been applied to some of Virgin's trains running the Liverpool-London route. That would ensure Capital of Culture branding i seen everywhere from here to London, multiple times each day/week.

It's a joke, based on the idea that the SuperLamBanana is to be sold by the owner, and that to raise everyones hackles to the upmost, Manchester was added to the news item as the location of one of the possible bidders.

Wouldn't have made as big an impact if the headline was "SuperLamBanana may be be sold to Preston".....

You'll never believe this
but
the superlambanana isn't depicted on the front (or back) of the official 2008 guide to CoC (the one that costs a fiver).

I'm contacting the DP&E straight away.

He's only jealous because we've got our own trains, and they're bigger than his toy sets.
