Love it. Washington is beautiful through and through. I love its geographic position up there in the far left corner of the country, desert on one side, wine country, amazing mountains in the middle and the lush forests of the coast. An inland sea full of islands and the great city of Seattle hemmed in by three of the countries most beautiful national parks. One of the best in the USA.

My home state. It should be 2 states, Western Washington and Eastern Washington. Political power is all here in Seattle. Dino Rossi should have won governor but Seattle didn't want him, so Gregoire it is...again. Political views aside, this state has a lot to offer. Beautiful mountain ranges, national parks, Seattle, etc. A relatively healthy economy compared to most of the other states, weather to satisfy most anybody and plenty of outdoor activities to keep the enthusiasts wanting more.
Washington, I love you. Never gonna leave you!

Washington tour!
I saw SRG's tour of Oklahoma and it made me want to add to the Washington thread.

Is late May a good time to visit the Seatlle area? Does it make any sense to go at all if I have no access to a car?

May is an OK time to visit Seattle, but there's still a good chance for rainy skies. No, as long as you don't intend to venture beyond the metro area you won't need a car to get around.

May is pretty good. A baseball cap will be plenty with our type of rain.
No car is needed. I've never had one. Much of the interesting stuff in Seattle is right in the center, and you can take ferries farther afield. Or transit. |

beat me to it lol. I don't think people realize just how drastic the difference is between Eastern and Western Washington. Not to mention the huge variety in Western Washington alone. A rain forest, a rain shadow, the deepest recorded snowfall ever, and a desert all within a couple hours of Seattle.

Yeah. Both western and eastern Washington has big culture shocks. Heard many people in Spokane area wants to divide Washington into two different states because they hates how Washington government tends focus on Seattle metro area more than they do to entire state of Washington.

Wow! Washington looks amazing! It's hard to believe that all those pictures are just one state. The picture of the Palouse looks pretty crazt, I might have to look up more info on that!
