Haskovo | Хасково

Haskovo is the name of a town and administrative centre of the province of the same name in southern Bulgaria, not far from the borders with Greece and Turkey. Its population (as of December 2005) is 96,010. The province includes the town of Dimitrovgrad.

Haskovo celebrated its 1000th anniversary in 1985. To mark the event, a new clock tower was erected in the centre of the town. In medieval times it was known for the nearby Uzundzhovo fair, famous in all of Bulgaria.

For Bulgaria's standarts Haskovo is relatively wealthy city, so they can afford all this fancy stuff
In the last few years a big attention is being payed to the road infrastructure. They are renovating old roads and building new ones, also street markings are very good - they use this expensive, foreign, yellowish paint to mark the roads in the city.

That is really quality job! They did it some 4-5 years ago and it hasn't moved an inch. I mean each pavement stone looks complete, all angles are straight, marble stones, it has working water draining system etc. - very rare quality. I wish I could say the same for our square back in Dimitrovgrad

Yes you are There are all kinds of motorsport lovers in Haskovо and Dimitrovgrad.

They make each year those show offs of motorcycles, hot rods, and retro cars. I'm no very in to this stuff, but if you are a speed junkie Haskovo is the place to be

You can probably find lots of pics and videos of those events on the web.
