Worst Way To Die!!!

This came to me as a potential poll after posting about the death of David Caradine... just a bit of morbid fun!

Are you serious? That's one of the best ways to die. It would be instantaneous.

Edit: I guess it depends what height you're talking about. You could die a fairly slow death from the injuries incurred in a lower fall (say, 2-5 storeys).

Being tied to the ground in a blazing hot desert, having honey poured all over you, then having ants slowly eat you alive.

Of that lot, burning.

Surely it takes a long time to die from being set on fire....how on earth do you die after being set on fire (say in an execution)? Suffocation?

I always thought that being burned at the stake was one of the worst ways too day until I read that most of the victims suffocated due to cardon monoxide poisoning rather than be killed directly by the fire itself.

Necklacing would be a horrible way to go

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necklacing

Dont know if this will be removed, its pretty sick

Drowning must be awful, imagine the sheer need you would feel for oxygen and your body forcing you to breathe but all you get is a lungfull of water, horrible.

garrotted or gutted whilst still alive would be my bet.

There was a spate of burnings in Africa a few year where they would place the individual in tyres and set fire to them. I can't remember why - probably some tribal conflict.

Good god!

I think the worse deaths have been suffered by those who were taken as a family and forced to watch their children and dependants be taken away screamimg to be slaughtered and being killed unable to do anything to help save them or even comfort them. And anything like being in that type of situation.

But any way that wasn't sweetly in your sleep would be bad.

i've never died myself but i reckon dying in general is not that brilliant regardless of how it occurs. i'm gonna throw the word moribund in here, just to score points with charlie.

topical i know, but going down (ooo!) in a plane has got to be unsettling. to be conscious, at the mercy of the elements, while all hell breaks loose and you plummet to a violent death with no chance to say "i actually don't like you" to close friends and family - not ideal.

And for it to take potentially 10 minutes before you hit the ground. Possibly worse if you are wedged in between the smelly farty fat guy and the wierd old man who kept nudging you in the ribs during meal service.

Im sure everyone would go mad.

Being eaten alive by a fuck off Anoconda. The thing would have you in its coils, you would be gripped by shear panic knowing that you will soon be digesting inside this thing.

OR

Being captured by natives* and BBQ'd alive on a spit.

*You know, like Aboriginals or some kind of backwater tribe in deepest, darkest Africa/South America.

OR

Being beheaded by some crazed terrorist maniac after months of being held prisoner by them in shackles. Now that would be absolutely appauling, the blade of the knife would probably be a bit blunt and your neck would be hacked at like a big chunk of raw meat that you can get from the butchers.

Also as the plane drops 1000s of feet in seconds your ears explode...

I always thought that if I had to pick how to die, it would be flight 93 style in a plane crash in which I was a hero.

I voted terminal illness, because cancer, ms or someother terminal illness would be painfull and go on for too long, but I'm really tempted by burning, that really is a bad way to die. I wouldn't be botherd about the other to be honest, infact I would chose some of them as their a cool way to go.

Note to self - must read previous posts.

I read somewhere it takes 10 seconds to die if you fall into lava. That must be the longest 10 seconds ever. However, the 11th second would be bliss.

Dehydration whilst one is in a position of isolation (leading to weakness/immobility/ various infections/severe headaches/psychotic depression and eventually organ malfunction)...

I have nursed individuals whom have been rescued from the latter stages of this, more often an elderly individual who has poor mobility and is stuck at home following a fall and cant get up to use the phone, get a drink or go to the loo and eventually gets weaker and weaker, madder and madder.
No family to look out for them and they have been well enough/unproblematic in the past so as not to be on the comunity nurses list or for instance the meals on wheels round...

Hanging upside down in a cave being slowly drained of blood by spiders whilst at the same time dying of thirst and hunger. Not great.

Or theres the old classic of being tied down with a hole under your head and a rat in a cage on top that has to eat its way through you to escape.
