I knew ebay had lost it along time ago but....

.... f*** me, when did these stupid P&P rules come in? I've just been trying to sell one or two bits (33 things) and its saying I have to provide free postage! Why the hell should I have to pay for postage? It should be up-to the seller if they want to do that or not. I've heard the argument of add it on to your items price. It does not work as it puts the price up.

exactly Andy, put it on the listing price and your listing fee goes up.

The one good bit of good news is you can get some real bargains for .50p or .99p on there if that helps when it comes to buying things.

Have not sold anything for a while but I always used to round up the post/packing price so as to include all my fees (ebay selling fees, materials and what paypal would have off me if I remember rightly?) say something would cost £1.25 to post and the fees were 50p I'd set it at £1.99, I'd only sell stuff that I was pretty sure would sell as it's otherwise a waste of time.

That aside, I'm quite happy with ebay at the mo, just bought 10 hours of quality anime for £3.99 all in!

It's mainly DVD's which are free postage at the moment and books have a maximum postage of 2.75.

I found while listing some Ink Cartridges. Any Ink on ebay now comes with free postage for some reason.

I always thought you had to provide P&P anyway.

Never used it because of it. ebay is a gimmic dont fall for it. Like Tesco clubcards. Use it for a year and get three quid back. There are advantages bu they are far and few between.

Not worht the hassle and dissapointment.

Club cards are great.

I use them all the time to go out. As long as you don't use them as an alternative for cash at the Tesco's till you can really make a saving. In some restaurants £2.50 in club card points = £10 in restaurant vouchers.

The way to get round this scam is to not to have your item in a category. So for example if it is a DVD, then list it as 'Other items' or something like that. I dont think buyers pay much attention to the categories anyway. I know when I was trying to sell a 4 kilogram job lot of books and it wanted me to charge no more than 2 quid, I had to change the category.
