Jitra is a town in Kedah, Malaysia. It is located in the Kubang Pasu district.

During World War 2, when The Japanese attacked Malaya, Jitra was on the one of main lines of defence set up by the British. One of the fiercest battles during the British defence of Malaya were fought here.

Jitra terletak di kawasan Parlimen Kubang Pasu, Kedah Darul Aman. Jitra berhampiran dengan sempadan Kedah - Thailand, kira-kira 35 km dari sempadan. Ramai daripada penduduknya boleh bertutur bahasa Siam, malahan ada yang berketurunan Siam, terutama yang tinggal berdekatan dengan sempadan.

Bandar Jitra hampir dengan Lebuh raya Utara Selatan ke Bukit Kayu Hitam dan ke selatan iaitu Kuala Lumpur. Dalam peta, kedudukan Jitra ialah 6.3° Utara dan 100.4° Timur

Bandar Darulaman is an integrated development spanning over 2,200 acres of freehold land slated to become one of the biggest and best-planned townships in the north. Bandar Darulaman which house DRSB main office is situated about 3 km south of Jitra and only about 5 minutes drive from the Kepala Batas International Airport and 15 minutes from the downtown Alor Setar.

By road, Bandar Darulaman is accessible through the main North-South trunk road and the North-South Expressway (PLUS) into Bandar Darulaman via the Bandar Darulaman Interchange.

The Bukit Kayu Hitam / Butterworth stretch of the North - South Expressway (PLUS) traverses the township and is accessible via the Bandar Darulaman interchange.

Traffic Circulation
A well-developed hierarchy of roads has been established providing easy access to all parts of the town and to the two major highways. The old trunk road is linked directly to the north-south expressway by a 132 ft access road. On-ramp and off-ramp offer direct access to Alor Setar.

There's a lot of changes in Jitra..Formerly, I was x-Polimas and I think Jitra had improved a lot since 2000. I luv Darulaman Golf & Suite, Darul Aman Park,Jitra Mall (got Cinema there) and area Secret Recipe. Kira ok la tu..

PERSEKUTUAN Pekilang-Pekilang Malaysia (FMM) cawangan Kedah/Perlis akan menganjurkan Kejohanan Golf Persahabatan dan Amal di Darulaman Golf & Country Club (DGCC), Jitra, Kedah pada 25 Julai ini.

Pertandingan golf itu sempena penubuhan cawangan FMM bagi Kedah dan Perlis pada 1 Julai lalu, bertujuan merapatkan hubungan antara pihak industri serta agensi kerajaan.

Kejohanan yang menawarkan hadiah menarik, termasuk sebuah kereta kepada pemain yang berjaya melakukan pukulan hole-in-one akan menggunakan format stable ford membabitkan 18 lubang secara keseluruhan.

Pengerusi FMM cawangan Kedah/Perlis, Dr Haminnuddin Abd Hamid (gambar), berkata pihaknya setakat ini sudah menerima lebih 60 penyertaan membabitkan ahli FMM serta orang ramai dan menjangkakan jumlah itu bakal meningkat kepada 120.

Beliau berkata, penganjur turut menyediakan tiga motosikal kepada pemain yang berjaya melakukan pukulan hole-in-one yang ditaja Hicom-Honda Manufacturing Sdn Bhd dan Edaran Modenas Sdn Bhd.

Kami juga mengalu-alukan penyertaan syarikat korporat, agensi kerajaan atau individu yang ingin menyertai atau menaja kejohanan itu,” katanya di Sungai Petani, Kedah, semalam.

Katanya, sebahagian dana yang terkumpul itu akan disalurkan kepada Pusat Harian Sinar Harapan Alor Star; Persatuan Bantuan Pendidikan Kanak-kanak Khas, Sungai Petani (Pekaka) dan Rumah Amal Kulim.

Yuran penyertaan ialah RM200 seorang bagi ahli FMM dan pegawai rasmi kerajaan, manakala bukan ahli atau individu, RM250.

Tarikh tutup penyertaan pada 22 Julai ini dan borang boleh didapati di FMM Kedah/Perlis, No 3, Tingkat 2, Bangunan EMUM 55, Jalan Gangsa, Kawasan Perindustrian Mergong 2, 05150 Alor Star, Kedah.
