Thread title changes/status updates
As others have said, it's time this forum was better organised and brought into line with the other subforums, so please post any thread title changes here (including any which need merging). Please provide actual links, rather than just naming the thread(s) - this will make it 10 times quicker to edit. Thanks.
The naming convention for each thread needs to be something like... Project Name | City/Location | Status ... where the "status" will be one of the following: Vision - fantasy projects that will never become a reality Cancelled - projects that have been cancelled for whatever reason Pre-planning - for projects yet to be submitted for planning permission Pro - for projects that have been submitted for planning permission App - for projects that have received planning permission Refused - for projects that have been refused planning permission On hold - self explanatory Demo - demolition underway Prep - Site preparation. For projects that are between the demolition and construction stage. U/C - Under construction T/O - Topped out. This only applies to projects that include a tall structure. e.g. The Crossrail thread will be changed to: Crossrail | London | U/C This only applies to specific projects of course. Threads with a "general" theme don't need this. I'm stickifying this thread, btw. If you have any general comments/suggestions, please post them here too.

Interesting logic.
App - Approved planning application Pro - Proposed planning application

OK, so my recent thread, should now perhaps be called:
Fantasy/Extended Underground Map | London, UK | Vision --- This thread, which is essentially about 'fantasy' High Speed Railways in the UK, is a bit more contentious, because there is also some discussion about the real proposals for HS2... It could be awkward to sort out, but I feel it would benefit from splitting into two threads. The original could be titled: Ideas/Comments/Fantasies/Routes - High Speed Rail (or Maglev) in the UK | UK | Vision With any discussion about the 'real' HS2 / Network Rail New Lines / Greengauge 21, titled: High Speed Two/High Speed Rail Network | UK | Pre-planning |

Some more quick ones:
Cambridgeshire Guided Busway | Cambridgeshire | U/C (This project is now almost complete - is there a status once it's open?) Euston Station Redevelopment | London | Pre-planning Second Tyne Tunnel | Tyneside | U/C London Overground | London | U/C Crossrail | London | U/C |

I don't mind creating a new thread for actual HSR proposals combining Network Rail, HS2 announcements and GG21 proposals

Wait a couple of months and we will have the official blueprint, that should form the basis of a fresh discussion.

just a thought, but could you or someone create a separate dedicated non-fantasy thread showing versions of the network connections map that only includes all actual proposed changes? maybe in the case of e.g. bakerloo extension where there are three routes under proposal, a version could be created showing all three routes and how they connect. sorry to try to create more work for you, and please don't think of me as ungrateful for the amazing work you already did, but i think a lot of forumers would find it very useful to have a thread dedicated to illustrating all existing proposals (as opposed to illustrating one forumer's personal fantasy/preferences - no offence intended!). this way people can get a more hollistic view of how each actual proposal relates to the network as a whole. |
