Dublin City to Airport Metro Route Announced
Today the Irish Government announced the route the first Metro line in Dublin will take.The route will link Dublin Airport to the City center and also 2 tram lines in addition to a main rail line and Dublin City University,the metro will also serve Croke Park which is one of the biggest stadium's in Europe.Metro North will use underground, surface and elevated tracks.
To accommodate an estimated 34 million passengers per year. 17 minutes journey time from the city center to Dublin Airport. Trains every four minutes,one every 90 seconds at peak times. Metro North is part of Transport 21 which is a €34 billion transport plan the Irish Government announced less than a year ago calling it a '21st century transport plan for 21st century Ireland'.T21 will see €9.4million invested every day for the next 10 years in Irish transport.
