Here a few pictures from yesterday's game, we can see that most of the work was done in the interiors

There really doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. Even the high end seats have a good vantage point, without making it seem like you are in danger of falling off of a cliff. This place looks better than some of the MLS venues.

Looking at the final design photos for Estadio Caliente, when comparing it with recently built venues like Estadio OmniLife (Guadalajara) and Nuevo Estadio Corona (Torreon) and the Monterrey stadium under construction...I feel like a grander/more modern design could've been drawn up. Then again, maybe I'll change my mind and say "awesome stadium" once I see the finished product.

Why does it have to be "awesome"? Why can't we be content with with a stadium that is very good? Central location, close to the action, a fairly steep rake, no obstructed seats, easy access and egress. What else do we really need?

Because the modernist movement ended a while back. Architecture should now be even better

As a season ticket holder I visit this stadium every other week, and let me tell you, other new stadiums like Guadalajara's Omnilfe and the U/C stadium in Monterrey, are in a totally diffent league, they are more on par with MLB - NFL venues.

Tijuana's Caliente Stadium still is the stadium we need. With a capacity growth on par with demand, assuring a full venue, VERY close to the action, and is very conveniently located within Tijuana. The only thing is that most amenities are not completed so the stadium can be a little uncomfortable, considering that tickets are not cheap at all, you could expect a little more comfort. The full season is soldout from season tickets.

Xolos' story is pretty amazing these past few years. They've also become quite a few Americans favorite LigaMX team due to the fact they have some Americans on their 1st team (Corona, Castillo, Garza), and quite a few in their youth ranks.

They've done a good job getting their name out in San Diego and the rest of Southern California as well in terms of marketing and scouting for talent.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. When I made my comment about the comparison with Guadalajara and Monterrey, I wasn't saying that Estadio Caliente is a bad stadium. It obviously has not a single bad view of the action, which is a change from so many brand new stadiums that inexpicabally keep including obstructed seats. I was just wondering if the typical Xolos fan was left feeling satisfied/happy with the final stadium design, or if they felt ownership (does Hank Rhon still own the team?) could've done more with however much $$$ they have to spend on the expansion.

The feeling among Xolos fans, is that it is still under development and final judgment hasn't been done. But that patience is running out, the Championship they won last season gave the club time. But now that prices are higher (average prices range from 30-65 dlls per game), most people attending are from middle to high class + hispanics living in California. So the standars for these persons are higher. Pretty much all of the middle and high clases from Tijuana, have been to Padres (MLB) or Chargers (NFL) games. And comparisons are been made on gameday experience, now that the ticket prices are in the same range.

PS The Hank family still owns the club and stadium.

No one really knows, but we do know the roof it currently has will be removed and replaced, but no ones knows how.
