From my apartment, I have quite a few amenities within easy walking distance.

My office is 7 blocks away.

I am surrounded by parks and the riverside woodland is only about a ten minute walk from me!

At least 150-200 bars, clubs, pubs, restaurants and art galleries within walking distance.

Cultural facilities galore. My gym is also 2 blocks away.

There is a bus stop right in front of my building (although I rarely use that route), but also the circulator, "BRT" and commuter train system are all within a couple blocks.

So the two things that i wish i was closer to:

Grocery/Supermarkets. There are 2 minimarkets and one medium sized-supermarket within walking distance, although the supermarket is about a 30 minute walk which in my opinion is a little far. There is a good farmers market during the summer/autumn, only 2 blocks away.

There are very few (if any) shops of any kind. Needing any sort of good other than food, I must take transit at least 20 minutes.

But I don't have a car, so proximity to work (my source of income) is most critical.

I Love South Africa

Yes, absolutely.

I also prefer to be able to walk to work. So, my office comes a close second.

A small neighborhood centrum with a small market-place/plaza, café, grocery-store, pharmacy, barber, ATM, restaurant, youth recreation center and a nearby school. Oh wait, I got all those 150 meters from my place.
What the hell am I doing here?!?!

A decent cocktail bar would be nice. My office building has a gym in it and there're a few supermarkets close to subway hubs in downtown Stockholm so I don't need to worry about grocery shopping.

I myself have always been fan of greenery so I will require tranquil setting as well as serene forests. Luckily I have both

1st Station
1 minute walk from my front door. Most appreciate this.

2nd Local high street
Supermarkets, restaurants, bars, all about a 5 minute walk away. Convenient when I need it, although I frequent other urban centres more often.

3rd Parks
Several near my place, one with a good football pitch which I'm grateful for.

A hospital.

I'm pretty sure I can endure a short commute in order to shop. But when I'm having a heart attack or get into an accident, nothing beats being close to a building full of medical staff.

In my flat here in Singapore, supermarket is 300m west. Bus stop is 10m east. Nearest hawker is 50m north. Primary school is 10m north, secondary school is 100m south. My office is 300m north. Nearest mall is 10 mins by bus.

Unfortunately, I don't stay in this flat as most of the time I'm on a business trip

There are parks, restaurants, theaters, banks, church, post office, stores, school, fire station, bike path, gym, pharmacy, pond within a quarter of a mile radius from my apartment. There's a huge hospital within a mile, a train station within 3 miles and a huge shopping mall within 5 miles.
