the new terminal will have an initial capacity of one million passengers (rinas airport will achieve it either this year or next year with current yearly growth at 22%) and a final capacity of 3 million passengers. it will have a surface area of 8,500 mē with a maximum height of 15 meters. The new cargo terminal will be able to handle 4.500 tons per year.

are U sure about this? Cause in earlier posts Illiricum says that it will have up to 1.5 milion capacity and I also found this info on the Hochtief web site. Not that it will not be able to handle more passangers that 1.5 milion, but I'm just curious about the excact projected size.

at the initial phase it will have one million. at the final phase if need be hotchief has stated they will expand the terminal to handle 3 million. i don't know how long it will take to reach this goal, probably not in this decade. however i do now that the one million mark will be passed soon, if not this year, next year.

U mean they will need further expansion of the terminal to accomodate those 3 milion? They are re-initiatinng the expantion of the Skopje airport so that's why I was curious. The projected capacity of the terminal will be 1.5 milion passangers per year, which will be the same as the current terminal U/C in Tirana. Altough the whole process is at an early stage, there are already rumors that Hochtief will be one of the main bidders to operate and invest in the airport.

yes exactly. the current structure being built has a maximum capacity of 1.5 million. obviously this will grow and when it does direct changes will be made to the structure in order to support this growth.
