There's a lot of great construction happening in Brazil and it's cool to see some of it here. Nice thread.

A real construction site. Rio undergoes a massive transformation and that will be good for a general improvement.

Everytime I see new pics from Rio, I fall in love one more time. And this project has been developed very well. This is an example for our country of political efficiency. Congrats Rio and cariocas, you deserve your glory back!

No. A big portion however will be set by the time of the Olympics.

No, Dubai is built with modern standards and it looks like sh*t. Pedestrian streets mostly end up being boring and dead. The at-grade streets you are reffering to sound like one of those huge failures of American urbanism which the whole world sadly adopted.

Does that mean the wires stay?? With an opportunity like this to bury them? STUPID corporations!! (...thanks for the translate)

All in all the quality of the project is praiseworthy!

I am very impressed with the conservation of the industrial heritage which btw looks wicked! Some wonderful streets are being born and even with that sad fish bone of Calatrava or the horrible retro art museum(?) everything has a very urban feel to it. The Port to me looks like a metropolitan art scene waiting to be born and I see no reason for that not to happen.

And thumbs up for the cable car !

I honestly can't wait to see this portion of this city alive again, with companies and people working - and living! - in a place which was for so long decadent and undervalued. The buildings are magnificent, both the new and the historical ones! I wish this sets the example for the whole country!
