No shit!

More than half of the "scientific" side of the project is based on pseudoscience and untested theories, and people who aren't grounded in science are gullible enough to believe it as well.

could you point that half based on "pseudo" science?
We could learn something from you.

Plenty of both air and water on Mars.. though most water is in solid formdue to the low temps of the planet these days and the mix of gasses the makes the air is not as on Earth( and neither is theairpressure ) - why folks would need to live in structures that sheilds them from the cold and the atmosphere just like in Canada

No seriously the atmosheric pressure and the lack of a magnetosphere will mean that mankind will never run around on the surface in shorts and tshirt and play football - but then again that is not the goal - modern man lives predominantly inside anyways, protected by central heating and aircondition and ventilation systems and UV filteringwindows and solid walls etc etc etc and the god thing about Mars is that there almost no geological activity anymore making the rock perfect for huge underground stuctures where housing, shops, workplaces etc would be shielded from radiation and cold..

As for liquid water that is basic chemistry ( and heat ) and the same goes for air..

No chance of that - distances are far too great it would simply take too much time as the universe is expanding and we would not be able to catch up to many.. in fact most stars would burn out and explode long before we got to them and so would the stars formingfrom the loft over gasses too.. ( and so on )

But with over 200 billion stars in the Milky way alone we have plenty to explore.. and if we are done with that in 4 billion years we will getanother ~500 billion stars when our galaxy collides with the Andromeda Galaxy

and they say that the others planets rich in minerals such as a diamond planet or a planet of gas that mankind can use to the car

planet,

What is known is that it had a much denser atmosphere, a functioning magnetoshphere and that much of the surface was covered in liquid water..

If there was life has yet to be proven, but conditions were certainly as good on Mars as they were on Earth with one exception = the Moon!

The Moon is actually the leftover of another planet that crashed into Earth and ended up trapped in our orbit - what makes that special is that the Moon's gravitational pull causes tidal effects that has likely forced early life on Earth ( cells ) to adapt to the constant change, where in Mars there would have been no such effect..

Over time Mars lower gravity meant that it's atmosphere was lost to the solar wind at a faster rate than ours are, thus a reduction in atmospheric pressure that does not support liquid water anymore and since it's smaller it's core a<nd geological activity slowed down faster than on Earth and that reduced the magnetosphere to a point where the surface is now bathed in lethal radiation from both the sun and the cosmos - thus meaning chances of life at surface level is very slim - but much of the water is still around in the crust and there may be areas where life can still flurish..

A massive black hole just like all other galaxies feeding off stars, gas and planets that get's too close..

That's not how it works - but of course other planets will be rich in minerals just like Earth is - so if that's all we care about we don't get to go to space, we just need to dig down where there is plenty of fossil fuel and diamonds to be found..

How old are you exactly if I may ask?

I love this project but I feel like they should try colonizing the moon first..use it as a trail & error kind of situation. Test the water before we jump in

Yeah.. use the moon for trial and error so that if we fuck up the moon it will also fuck up the earth.

I meant if anything went wrong we would always be close enough to go out there and fix the problem and perhaps try again as opposed to something going wrong on mars where the project would most surely be abandoned...for a long while. Also it would take place on a tiny portion of the moon, so i doubt we would do any serious harm. Were bound to colonize the moon someday, why not try it first?

^ I gave several reasons for it already.

Mars is the far better option for a first "trial and error" - while there's nothing that would stop us from doing both.

- Almost unusable dust/regolith on Moon when it comes to growing plants.

- Moon has no atmosphere, while Mars at least has a thin one to protect from radiation.
- Mars has a proper day/night rhythm comparable to Earth. A moon day takes a month.
- Temperature differences on the Moon are extreme. Overall surface temperature is way colder than on Mars.

But: As I always said, I'm rooting for both, colonizing Mars and establishing a Moon outpost for industrial, research and tourism purposes.
It could even happen pretty much at the same time, in the 2020/30ss.

It's just that we need different approaches. For all we know, we can't really terraform and settle the Moon. Not in this century probably. While we could do so with Mars.

Moon will never be colonized.
Moon will probably always be a scientific institution, mine, or tourist destination. Nothing more.
That is my opinion.
