And on top of that - this is a genuinely very nice looking piece of modern Architecture. Would be a shame to never have its elegance grace the city!

Wouldn't call this elegant, it's a borderline stumpy box!

Its not particularly big actually. Not for London anyway. But i certainly think it has a certain elegance to it, compared to Heron and the like.

Major law firm hunts for 200,000 sq ft City base
11 June 2013 | By Nick Johnstone
http://www.propertyweek.com/news/maj...056125.article

Law firm DLA Piper has hired advisers to carry out a search for up to 200,000 sq ft of space in the City of London, in a move that is expected to kick start a major City scheme via a prelet, Property Week can reveal.

100 Bishopsgate?

How many projects of 200,000ft are ready for take-off? I can think of only this one which has been prepared for construction. The Pinnacle I fear has taken some steps backwards with the anticipation of a redesign. That adds at least a couple of years on to its start I would think. But then there is the surplus space in Lime Street, n'est pas?

Everything Brookfield owns is more or less ready to go. London Wall, Principal Place, 100BG although London Wall needs demolishing first.

Other than that there are very few new developments in the city big enough to accommodate 100,000sq ft + requirements and there has been quite a bit of activity recently on the letting front that will only accelerate as space gets taken up so if the Pinnacle owners don’t get a move on with submitting their redesign they will be danger of missing the boat again. If they do it this summer they could be up and running within a year.

Logic is the Pinnacle would be finished later, firstly because of the redesign and it is a bigger building. 100BG is a safer bet.

I've enlarged this detail from lumberjack's recent spectacular pictures from the top of the Leadenhall Building. It shows the 100 Bishopsgate site from above (correct me if I'm wrong about that). It's looks like they're trying to get the groundwork prepared as much as possible, ready for a quick start should a client sign on. I guess it shows they're optimistic, at least?

Have they restarted this one? I work in Leadenhall Street and since last week have seen people working on site ...

At the risk of looking too much into this ...

Assuming the two pics above were taken on different days absolutely no work was being done on site. Since last week though I've seen the site doors open with a guard at the entrance all the time and a team of people on site. I even saw the tower crane moving some kind of girder on Friday morning.

Please let them have resumed construction!!!

I'm pretty sure those pictures are both from the same day aren't they?

A comparison of the above pics with #1442 suggests some excavation from 26 May is continuing, though not a huge change. I was expecting that the basement/subsurface structure of the new tower would be built, similarly to the Pinnacle - is this what may be happening?

Maybe they're just keeping the site prepared, the same way that Riverside South is kept ticking over with works on the foundations?
