Manila needs a rationalized bus scheme. One bus company for Manila, monthly salary for drivers. Slowly phase out jeepneys.tricycles/pedicabs. I hope...

Changing the bad habits formed through years of bad management. Let's support this new move by Manila.

And they're planning a City-run Bus line. *clap*

Saludo na ko sa Admin na to pag naimplement to ng maayos.

But seriously, who's responsible for the bus design? Can slap this person? hahaha Kailangan ata ng Design and Aesthetics 101.

Some 'outlawed' buses defy Manila ban
July 24, 2013 7:55am

Quote:
Despite a ban imposed by Manila mayor Joseph Estrada, some buses without terminals in the city remained defiant and continued to venture into the city's streets to drop off passengers.

As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, some buses from Cavite province and Las Piñas City ventured past the "boundary" at Pablo Ocampo (Vito Cruz) and went as far as Adriatico Street, radio dzBB's Manny Vargas reported.

I've traveled in some other parts of the country and I admit they have a better transportation system unlike in Manila.

Good thing it's been implemented where no Provincial buses et al can enter the city proper, to our country men who are affected by this! we should be part of the solutions and not the problem, simple sacrifice can make a big improvements....

TopGear FB Page - From Jimmy Dumlao: "Taft Avenue, in front of PGH, at 7:50am today. Although the bus ban might mean having to walk an extra block or two, or riding another public utility vehicle for some commuters, this is still a most welcome sight in the name of progress. Each one has to pitch in his own fair share of sacrifice."

Totoo kaya ito 7:50AM on a weekdays?

Though the disadvantage of such is that, it has created traffic in it's neighboring cities where these buses pass.

Jeepneys? I already explained my opinions on this several times already so no need to explain again.

But I agree the phase out of tricycles on main roads and pedicabs at all roads.

The bus model used is the appropriate type of bus that should ply around Metro Manila just like The Fort Bus.

The city buses currently used by various private operators are more for long distance travel.

I hope Erap will put much needed political will in Manila. Ang nakakahiyang Maynila, ay nakakahiyang Pilipinas; isn't it a wonder that if Manileno mass media refers to a place in Mindanao they refer to Mindanao as a whole? Same goes now for Manila.

I hope hindi lang to ningas-cogon.

OMG I've never seen taft ave. like that in my college years. This is great! I used to ply the streets and take more than an hour drive from our condo in Makati to school. I wish I was still in college haaist.

Manila traffic scheme working

While many thought the newly-issued ban on buses with no terminals in Manila would not work well, city officials say the new traffic order sits well with bus operators and has decongested the traffic despite continued complaints from infuriated commuters.

In a previous interview, Manila vice mayor and traffic Czar Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso said the ban on illegal buses is just one of the many strategies the new administration will apply to ease the traffic in the city.
