Lucena mayor enjoins city dads to support projects
balita.ph
July 6, 2013 6:03 am

LUCENA CITY, Quezon -– Lucena City Mayor Roderick “Dondon” Alcala wooed the city councilors to support the various programs and projects he has lined up for the next three years for city constituents at the 16th inaugural session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod recently.

Mayor Alcala spelled out the projects as free day care education; sustaining the financial status of the city college by putting it in the general fund of the city; construction of the new city hall building as the current city hall annex in Barangay Isabang will be transformed as main campus of the city college and the proposed mega-project on the agri-industrial park.

The Lucena Mayor set out his proposals to the city council members so they can incorporate the plans, programs and projects in their legislative agenda, local bills and council resolutions to affirm the projects as the city council controls the “purse” and appropriation measures to finance the projects.

Quezon’s new district solon pushes eco-tourism, by-pass road infra
03 July 2013.
Media ng Bayan

LUCENA CITY, Quezon July 3 (PNA) -– Quezon’s newly-elected 2nd District Representative Vicente Alcala assured on Wednesday that the 29.7-kilometer road project for eco-tourism development from Lucena City to Barangay Bignay II in Sariaya, Quezon will be sustained.

According to the Quezon 2nd District Representative, the P383-million fund was already allocated for the eco-tourism road project. The multi-million road infrastructure project was initiated in 2006 through district Engr. Celestial Flancia.

Then the additional P200-million funds were further sourced for the Sariaya by-pass road project.

Rep. Alcala vowed to pursue the project even for soft and infrastructure projects from his P70-million countrywide development fund (CDF) or priority development assistance fund (PDAF) such as construction of health centers and barangay halls.

Congrats to Lopez town and the Quezon province for these development projects!

QUEZON FARMERS GAIN P53-M INFRA PROJECTS

July 24, 2013 9:01 pm

Quote:
Farmers from the remote villages of Lopez town in Quezon province received P53.6 million worth of basic infrastructure projects through the combined efforts of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the town’s local government. Officials from DAR, JICA and Lopez town’s local government turned over the newly built 5.4-kilometer Cogorin-Mabanban farm-to-market road, a bridge and six units of potable water supply system in a simple turnover ceremony held in the remote village of Santo Niño also in Lopez.

Also, the officials lead the groundbreaking ceremony of the pump irrigation project that could irrigate about 50 hectare of farmlands after its construction. DAR Undersecretary for Support Services Jerry Pacturan said the Cogorin-Mabanban FMR now connects the MSS Agrarian Reform Community to the adjoining barangays of Lopez and is expected to boost economic activities in the area. The six potable water systems, on the other hand are expected to provide safe and clean drinking water to some 150 households from barangays Santo Niño and neighboring Ilaya village.
