It's called a stepping in effect, exists on a lot of buildings. The plant room (not shed) has a roof. 260m to plant room roof, 255m to roof on top of glass curtain which will exist 5 metres below the plant room roof (260m) height. Wake up Culwulla.

you guys can be cruel. if i was standing next to you , you wouldnt say half the shit.
i admit i like having fun with some issues. but no one needs to get nasty.

exposure-sounds like you need to share a diagram/plan. cause no one on the forum has seen any drawings of Pearl and its half way up? very unusual for a project this size indeed.
you could say its going to 310m tall and who are we to argue?
we need evidence of its top RLs.

Some of you guys on here need to curb the insulting remarks. Next post which makes a personal attack on someone because of a discussion on building heights won't be around the forum for a little while.

We all know how the CTBUH measure buildings. As long as we have accurate figures/plans, there should only be civil discussion.

I really really really like this building. I was in BNE on sunday (fingers crossed again next week) and looking at it from my balcony I just felt it fits well, in every way. Its light and bright, but modern and sleek, opens itself to the elements, and kinda mimics it (which you gota love in Brissy), it stands out without sticking out... it just fits!

Yeah. It's pretty good for Brisbane. It has two faces depending on the angle, so unique. Melbourne's Docklands needs at least one of these. It's is severely lacking in this sort of height. Go Brisbane!!!!!!

I have to praise Meriton for their efforts. Normally you wouldn't see them produce something like this designwise.

I think it all comes down to what Brisbane City Council dictates to the developer. They can be pretty rigorous. In saying that we often end up with bland extrusions sitting atop flat concrete podiums as developers try their best to conform to Councils tangential triangles....

it all started for meriton when the design for WT was won by NFK, and they had to produce a quality product. which i think they are acheived back in 2004. since then they have lifted there game.

Greenland tower will be finished way before Crown.
2016 as opposed to 2018/
at moment Greenland tower will be 235m. but with arch feature can be 259m.
Crown will be maximum 247m.
