I understand that opinion, but it's true that having an NBA franchise is HUGE for a city like Milwaukee. I don't like the symphony or ballet or theater particularly, but I understand they're absolutely necessary to a city's vitality. I think major sports franchises are even more Important.

Plus, I've been a die hard Bucks fan for like 25 years, so much of my love for the city actually is connected with that.

I've heard Columbus might be getting a NBA team in the future...I won't be happy if its the bucks. and if they do end up leaving, watch them pull a ravens, thunder, avs, situation and move and immediately win titles or compete for them after losing for yrs

A large part is the leadership has to change here. Herb Kohl is probably a nice guy but it obviously ain't working.

This traffic light technology seems like a key to making the system work well: http://m.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/b...en.html?r=full

Glad the City opted for it. Maybe once implemented it can be made available to first responders as well.

You mean "without" MSO involvement.

It's cool that the MSO is seriously looking at a new venue. But they should be thinking of a statement building. I just can't get excited about a hall ontop of a parking garage. They are a very fine symphony and should be in a building at least the equal of the Calatrava.

Make no little plans, so I've been told.

I can't read the article as it's in the Subscriber Only section on the Business Journal but 833 East is to start construction in February after they complete the land sale in December. The building will be finished in October 2015. That's all I can read...

I used to go to the Borders downtown just to read the business journal.

This is great news! We should all chip in and buy a group subscription so we can read the rest.

This is AMAZING news. We now will have the 833, NML and Couture going up at the same time. This will be some impressive growth by the lake. I like it.

I like that idea . There were a ton of articles about the couture/lakefront development that I wanted to read. It seemed like an entire issue devoted to the couture lol. There was also one about all the development opening up in the third ward after the interchange reconfiguration which looked interesting. Finally, there was one about how with the Couture and ICC development, they are envisioning creating a "magnificent mile" type street for Milwaukee.

My old job used to have a subscription I would steal but I don't have that luxury anymore after switching jobs. Bummer.

For not having any news for 2 months, things sure got interesting.

Once we get the NML renderings, one of the photoshop savvy posters on here should make a nice picture of the new skyline.....

(I know there has been some pictures posted already but not with the actual renderings for the NML tower)
