Welcome Michael to the family! Actually Im not much of a DOHA nightlife person, just DUBAI hehe, but I heard there is a really cool place near Marriott Hotel (crap, i forgot the name, which apparenlty has good food and nightlife).

Qatarson, welcome back! Suzan isnt back yet, I hope she had a good time without delays in the flight back!

Actually, I am not a nightlife person ! But as I hear from some friends.. there are really cool places to hang out.. mostly in Intercon and Mariott...

I think when the hotels are constructed and furnished it will be great here in Doha, but i think we should give it a year....

In my brief stay of only six weeks I usual visited the Paloma (intercontinental hotel) and Rydges on wednesdays and thursdays. Especially the Paloma was lots of fun, too bad everything closes at 03.00PM.
I've visited the Mariott also once but i didn't like the shows there. Much too many noise!
As for just going out for a nice dinner and chit chat I recommend that Japanese restaurant in the Mariott, the 'french cuisine' restaurant in the neighbourhood (forgot the name) and something else a little bit more modern. (forgot it also

I like the JAPANESE RESTAURANT TOO in the Marriott! I haven't tried the Rydges. I better try it before they demolish it.
