The same in RO ... so many projects got delayed because of it. Even the Bucharest historical centre (theyve just started remedial works on the underground services without digging up - some new technology) ... but the area itself is a ruin now ... with homeless and gypsies living (squatters) in potentially million Euro properties Anyway the motorway looks great and the fact that will be illuminated throughout its length ... Woowwww

No but in YU most of the land was and is private owned, it was not like in bulgaria where all land was nationalized. And it makes harder to build anything coz there are so many owners and for some land they don“t even know who is owner or the owner is dead or he/she doesn“t live anymore in state etc.

What do you mean? Length? I don't think I'm able to measure that. Roughly 30% is finished, 60% is under heavy construction and 10% still hasn't been touched yet, but I'm guessing they will start this spring or summer the latest. The deadline is nearing (a year and three months now), and they must start working on those untouched sections no matter that they are pretty short and on level terrain.

@Realek: Ugh oh...people tried that a year ago and mods definitely got annoyed and confused, so they made a rule that if u use the cyrillic and write "Banned", they'll ban you for real. I'd change it back if I was you.

It was returned to the original owners or their descendants. I got land in north central Bulgaria and some land close to Macedonia, which was expropriated from my great grand fathers.
My mom told me I am about to get 3 acres of woods in the mids of the Balkan mountains. How cool is that? I will build my own Balkan kingdom and whip my slaves as hard as 3tmk does.

This generally happened during the early nineties. My family got its Burgas hospital back. It was owned by my great grandfather, a famous surgeon in the early 20th century. Unfortunately when the commies came they took everything he ever owned, and his relatives were put on a so-called black list. They were all deemed aristocrats/bourgeoisie because of the wealth they had accumulated from the 'evils' of capitalism. Anyway, the government still uses the hospital so they just have to pay my grandmother a hefty monthly rent.

I don't know why BL is confused. Of course there was nationalization in Yugoslavia. And there was also denationalization in Macedonia. I think it has ended here a while ago but some cases are still dragged around the courts and disputed. However no new applications for denationalization are allowed I think. I might be wrong though.
People got back buildings, land or state issued bonds depending from the circumstances in each case.

BL has been getting confused quite a lot lately. The Banja Luka air must not affect him that well.
