It says the developer is having his activity suspended for 3 years... starting 15.01.2011
However, soon after there was a reply from developer that said that isnt true.
They said they are expecting this year the authorization document for the buildings complex.

Currently, for Dambovita Center, they need some additional permitting and additional finacing sources. On the website of the project, Dambovita Center is reported as U/C, but there is currently no move on the yard.

I answered above already, including the denial by the developer.

The bottom line is that the project is not abandoned, only on hold for lack of complete permitting mainly. Other than that, the project requires an additional 1 billion EUR in investment.

Plaza Centers negotiates resumption of construction works on largest real estate project downtown Bucharest

Real estate developer Plaza Centers, which signed a partnership with the Development Ministry in 2006 to carry out a project on the Casa Radio platform in central Bucharest, could resume works on the project this year, with plans to build an office building with a rentable area of 50,000 square meters, ZF writes.

Plaza Centers, controlled by one of the wealthiest Israeli businessmen, Mordechay Zisser, has already conducted preliminary construction works on the project, which also includes the construction of a commercial center, but stopped the investment in 2009 after the crisis kicked in.

Last week, the company signed an agreement for the sale of 47 commercial centers in the US for 1.4 billion dollars, thus obtaining funds that could be used for Central and Eastern Europe investments.

“We hope that in two months we can obtain the detail urban planning approval and the construction authorization from the Sector 1 authorities and then begin works on a ten-storey office building with a rentable surface of 50,000 square meters. I don’t know the costs of construction yet, how aggressive construction companies will be, but I expect an investment of about 50 million Euro,” said Luc Ronsmans, country manager of the company.

In the last few years, Plaza Centers had a litigation with the Sector 1 authorities, who challenged the zonal urban plan approved by the City Hall. The company reached an understanding with the Sector 1 mayor’s office and will build the project based on the received recommendations.

The Casa Radio project was begun at the same time with the AFI Palace Cotroceni mall, but while AFI Europe finalized its project in 15 months, Plaza Centers has been keeping its project on hold for three years.

The litigation is over, the sector city authorities have withdrew any claims against the project - so the only hurdle standing in front of the project has been removed.

Translation
Plaza Centers has signed almost ten years ago a partnership with the Ministry for Regional Development of Casa Radio project, called Dambovita Center, and that would include office space, a hotel and a mall. The mega-project swallowed hundreds of millions of euros.
In 2012, a company official said he hopes to begin construction of an office building with a lettable area of 50,000 sqm, which required an investment of 50 million euros.
Since the announcement went three and no worker has not made device on site. The facade of the building is used as a billboard. However, positive signals from the real estate market appear to boost Plaza Centers decision to actually start construction of the project.
"We want to start work at Radio House next year. We will build an office building of 50,000 sqm, as we had planned", he said for ECONOMICA.NET, Hanan Schraiter, marketing & development manager at Plaza Centers.
In addition, the company is close to signing with retailers anchor for the mall in Timisoara. Plaza Centers official would not disclose the names of retailers, but wanted to mention that negotiations are at an advanced stage.
"Whether the end of this year or early next year, we will start work and projected as Timisoara. Of all cities, Timisoara an increase in activity and will compete with those from Iulius Mall and NEPI. We want next year to focus on these two projects and sell the land they still have to Slatina, Constanta and Miercurea-Ciuc, "he told ECONOMICA.NET Schraiter.
Plaza Centers recently completed sale of the land of mall in Iasi, after last year sold two plots, one in Tirgu Mures, and one in Hunedoara.

Not much. According to the latest company presentation, the plans for Casa Radio in 2016 are:

Advancing related permits and approvals for the Casa Radio project in Bucharest, Romania and exploring opportunities for financing and/or partnerships for the development.

Basically what they have been doing since 2009.
Also, the project has been scaled-down, so the thread title is not accurate.

In concluzie: finalizarea acestui proiect este esentiala!
