Do you have some pictures of the inside of the trams? Are there plans for extensions or new lines? I really like the way the trams look

There was talks about building a new tourist loop along the harbour front between Central and Wan Chai. But no real plan has been developed, just idea.

電車改閘門增扶手

【本報訊】電車推出幾項措施加強電車安全，明年底先在上層車廂加設扶手，又研究取消「三節棍」式閘門，改為類似地鐵的開合式閘門。香港電車有限公司兼天星小輪常務董事易志明稱，現時無計劃調高電車車資，但早前天星小輪中環線受中環碼頭搬遷影響，乘客量減少一成八，有加價壓力，正研究是否申請加價。

易志明昨日出席電車交通安全運動時表示，目前已有三十至四十部電車在上層車廂增設扶手，預計在明年底可全面為所有電車加設扶手設施。他又指現時有部分千禧年新車採用「活頁閘」，有意將原有的車門改為類似地鐵的「開合式」閘門。

天星小輪研究加價
易續指電車目前無計劃加價，但承認天星小輪有加價壓力，現時正在「計數」，未向政府申請。易又提到六月初電車在北角出軌的意外，該公司數星期前已向政府提交調查報告，意外主因是車長個人問題。

出席同一活動的港島總區交通部高級警司趙啟丁表示，自從○四年與電車合辦交通安全運動後，涉及電車的交通意外顯著減少，○四年有九十二宗，去年減至六十二宗，今年上半年只有二十八宗。

I wonder how the doors gonna work. It can't exactly open side-way like MTR , otherwise the doors stick outside the tram body. If open one-way only, it takes a longer time to do so.
