50% of Indooroopilly Shopping Centre has been sold to AMP.

Perhaps they'll knock it down and start again... one can dream....

Boggo Road Urban Village news...

Leightons have transferred ownership or development rights of this area to Stockwell. This is not new news.

There has been an update however on the Urban Village and the application for the Mixed use centre by Calile Malouf Investments Pty Ltd has been withdrawn by Stockwell Development Group.

Some or all of this land has been purchased by the government for the new South Brisbane school

“I had to act quickly to secure this land so it could remain public land and as a possible school site option,’’ Ms Trad said.

“This does not mean the land will definitely be the site of the new school.

“I want to work and consult with our community to determine the best use of the land.

“If it’s decided that the site is not appropriate for a school, I think it should be turned into public green space.’’ Ms Trad said the site was being considered for the school location because it was close to public transport and world-class science facilities"
I think this proposal is dead in the water and we will miss out on something great..

The City Hall Christmas lights start tonight. It really is an amazing display, especially once the show starts. I was at the Pig and Whistle bar in KGS last night and they must have been setting it up for tonight's opening.

An interesting bit of news that could e a teaser, it looks like we have another Superseded Planning Scheme DA (A004809152) going up for Investa and Charter Hall's large Queen Street redevelopment (they bought 370-380 Queen Street earlier in the year and have already lodged such a request a few months back).

However, this new DA also includes the neighbouring 360 Queen Street as well. If so, that has become an even more substantial holding, and definitely something to watch!

Both a new school and more public green space are needed in that area. Although it is a bit annoying that it’ll be happening basically on top of such a key station (and one with surprisingly poor local PT connectivity).

Brisbane News & Gossip

It's a strange decision given the QLD Govt will also own the land on Joe Baker St as a result of the CRR, the site on Joe Baker St will be the primary construction site at Boggo Road for the duration of the CRR build and will be a cut and cover tunnel for the CRR.

Which means the QLD Govt will have a volumetric requirement of this land permanently reducing the value, but making it suitable for something like a school, yet still larger then the new site acquired on Boggo Rd.

Edit: see below, shaded green is volumetric requirement for CRR
