Ang also another tanong... Does this rebasing also affects the GDP PPP? Tataas din ba to?

Ibang iba talaga. No discrimination but based on my observation lang.

From what I heard, it's partly the fault of our diplomats who intentionally portrayed the Philippines as a poor country so that we could easily get foreign aid when calamities occur. My source said providing aid to poor countries in times of calamities is solely a discretion of the chief executive and does not need congress approval. The other reason is that non-government organizations in foreign countries also portray the Philippines as a country with lots of poor people so that they can easily solicit funds for their projects in the country.

I remember a German friend who sent me a message after his visit to the Philippines. He said, "I really thought the Philippines is a poor country because images of poor people are the ones always shown in Germany".

Even the Middle Class (Working Class) - pagsakay sa maling sakayan, jaywalking, pagkakalat kung saan saan, etc.

If the government imposes higher fines na at least 500 or 1000, tingin ko, malaki ang mababago diyan.

GDP PPP should be adjusted too based on the rebased GDP at Current Market Prices.

Not necessarily. The growth depends on the performance of the sectors of the economy included in the computation of GDP.

Ang kaibahan ng Squatter Community sa Metro Manila
---------------->
Brgy.

it has become a culture. nakahiligan na kasi na mahilig tatanggap nga aid at dole outs.
The irony is that we pinoys abhor and feel offended to be called as a third world country.

The beggar and beneficiary mentality among us should be removed. And I'm happy that the current government is starting to do that.

Foreigners through their churches, foundations, NGO's or even individuals with the help of locals organizing charity/gift giving are actually not a good sight to see. Of course, we need to swallow our pride that there are still many poor Filipinos who are so happy with 5 kilos of rice and 3 pcs of can goods and we Filipinos and our government are not doing enough to help our needy countrymen. But seeing lines of Filipinos, braving the rain or heat of the sum, so happy, smiling and standing in line for hours just to receive their "gifts" from foreigners is actually heartbreaking.

Though Im grateful for the gifts and the help , but as Filipino, I'm equally insulted. It's the same feeling when I see school buildings which have a huge markings that says " From the people of Germany or America, etc.), Even in Leyte, there are sari-sari Stores that " are donated through the generosity of Americans"

Sights like these are actually degrading to us as Filipinos. It perpetuates our colonial mentality and subconsciously tells us that we are not capable of standing on our own feet. That we need to be helped always. Of course they can help, but do they need to broadcast it perpetually by publishing in on the roofs or walls of buildings?

So, after the completion of 2 bridges funded by Chinese government along Pasig river, we have to expect to see a marker with something like this. "DONATED THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF CHINESE PEOPLE"
