Please correct me if I'm wrong ... but shouldn't we be referring to "Ho Chi Minh City" instead of "Saigon"???? C'mon it's more then a decade now ... we don't say "Leningrad" anymore, or "Constantinople" ... If the Vietnamese people want to call this city "Ho Chi Minh" I say why not?

Being too long is a real problem with the name of Ho Chi Minh City. In Vietnam, people call it the "City"

WoW! That's a good post but just one thing. Reader's Digest is unbiased with their rankings so I don't believe in it. If you go to Forbes, Fortune, Money and other Business-Oriented magazines, those cities that you mentioned are on the top 15 list of the most visited cities for business and the best cities to start a global business (corporate business). Bangkok is also there but not on the top 15 list. I believe it was between #25 and #45. By the way, Singapore is also on the top 15 list. I think between #4 and #8.

Saigon is prefered name for the Saigonese to call theri city, so let keep it as the popular unofficial name. Who is Saigonese will agree with me.
By the way, there is noone call Saigon People as Hochiminh Citiese!

It will be fantastic. It's a great Urban Area. But the City should clean up the old boroughs of the city. In the new area are just young and rich people live there.
Vietnam is a country which is one of the most fast growing country on earth. But there's many problem like the infrastructur. Old techniques and dirty streets. That's will be a big problem. But with the new Keangnam Tower Vietnam can show how strong this land is. Last edited by haducpham; December 17th, 2007 at 04:04 PM. |

Why is a Korean company investing $1.02 billion in building this in Vietnam? They should have built this in China, change it to a more futuristic design and build it next to the SIFC.
