It was restored between the school and the place You live... The government wanted to take that away too. Anyway the 90% existed earlier too, but that time the student tickets were 67,5% cheaper at every other place You know...

I know BKV very much, because I use that daily. But I have no idea about Volán and MÁV,because for long distance,I use the car.
Anyways, the introduction of the monthly ticket(bérlet) was a good idea for MÁV,imo...my gf spares at least 4000HUF every month because of that.
McDonalds is bad...

You know stuff like those:
from the beggining of the 20th century, buildings with curves, lot of colours, glasses.. highly decorative...... looks different than the typical academic one...

one example:

also.. i think the museum of applied arts... or something like that

also, the specifical Hungarian secession style.. like I think the school for blind people that you've already posted... and I think one building with green-yelow roof and ceramical tiles on the facade behind the National bank...

I mean if you have already some photo of these....
and please if you have a photo of Tekelijanum ( Tököliánum) this building in I think Szerb street..

If you have time only, it's nothing obligatory, and notnhing urgent.. thanks anyway

@ ocean spirit: bio sam davno.. kako da ti pomognem?

We Hungarians call this style secession style. In Hungary we don’t use the term „art nouveau".
German influence...

-I've had a similar thread a year or two ago, but it has dissapeared, so i thought why not start a new one?!..

This thread is going to show Budapest through the most beautiful photos from the most interesting places (let it be underground, or an interior of a building or just the facade). If you have similar photos you’d like to share, don’t hesitate to link them here, let’s show how amazing and colorful Budapest is!

www.earth-photography.com has some nice photos of Budapest.

I will soon post some of my own photos as well.

Budapest.

Domes on the tops of tenements in Blaha Lujza tér, one of the most crowded squares in the city.

The colors of Cafe Classico.

The house with the bend in the wall, in Anna utca (in the heart of the Castle District).

The sign of Ruszwurm Confectioners.

View over Buda from Gellért Hill.

Chains of light.

Afternoon gossip.

Crumbling facade among the beautifully restored ones in Budapest's financial district.

Neatly restored eclectic (the dominant architectural style of Budapest) facades in the Józsefváros ('Joseph City') district.

Colorful facade in Budapest's bank district, somewhere between the Parliament and Deák Square.

Frici Papa Kifőzdéje, a cheap old-style eatery in downtown Budapest (more precisely Király utca), frequented by locals.

Budapest's Gül Baba Street, a steep, winding medieval street leading up to Gül Baba's tomb.

View from the top of Gül Baba Street.

Hercegprímás Street.

Szentlélek tér (Holy Spirit Square) in Óbuda.

An Art Nouveau house in downtown Budapest.

Vörösmarty street underground station.

Trolley bus and its myriad wires in Izabella street.

József körút (Joseph ring road) crossing Józsefváros, a notoriously poor, but constantly developing district of the city.

Kálvin square's beautifully restored houses.

Keleti pályaudvar (eastern railway station).

The view from Kissvábhegy mountain.

Andrássy boulevard.

Upwards.

Millenáris Park, a recently developed public space, flanked by a number of restored buildings of an old locomotive factory.

Nádor street.

Inside the National Theatre.

Belgrád Embankment - the benches in front of small port are among the best places to sit and watch the city at night.

Typical tranquil Budapest streetscape at night.

Oktogon, an octagonal 'square' in central Budapest.

A spacious arrangement of houses vs. the cramped inner city.

Hungary's Parliament and the surrounding houses at about 4am.

Room on the top of Károlyi Palace in Pollack Mihály square.

Kertész utca (Gardener Street).

One of the most well-known statues in Budapest: Anonymus, the faceless scribe of a former Hungarian king.

Szabadság tér (Liberty Square) in autumn.

Újlipótváros's typical Bauhaus architecture

Riverside path in northern Pest - a calm pathway not far from downtown Budapest's bustle.

Batthyány square.

View from the top of Hármashatárhegy ('Triple Border Mountain').
