Leicester Mercury story today - wonder if preparation for the road bridge is what jaybob saw? Back when the towers were announced the council said that there wasn't going to be any improvements to the roads in the area. I wonder if they've twigged that the towers might not happen if they don't improve things down there.

£2M TO BRING IN INVESTORS
10:30 - 22 November 2007
Councillors are set to approve spending of £2 million on key regeneration areas.
The money will go to improvements in Waterside and Abbey Meadows.
The city council received a grant of £1.5 million from the Government towards work to build roads and make other improvements, to make the land more attractive for developers.
A report to the council said: "This work will encourage developers to bring forward plans to build quality housing adjacent to the schemes and create a more attractive and safe environment for residents of recently completed apartments."
The work in Bath Lane includes up to £100,000 to carry out a feasibility study for a river bridge and link road.
