As Hossen said, 10,000 m2 is not 10 km2. If we just work in m2, to keep things simple... 1 ha = 10 000 m2 700 ha = 7 000 000 m2. For 9000 blocks this works out to 777 m2. To put it into something people might understand, each block averages 0.192 acres - ie less than a quarter acre block. Of course, we have to build roads, parks, primary schools etc ... and no doubt there'll be big wide road reserves out there, so block size then decreases dramatically. But then again the article only says 'up to' 9000 houses so we probably won't get that many... In conclusion, bugger the calculations. We all know that whatever the government does and however small the blocks are, people will still build McMansions
