Tallest Structures in Romania
Romania is one of the few countries of which still is no list of its tallest structures is available. In fact I know only two structures in Romania taller than 200 metres. These are the 250 m tall masts of Bod longwave transmitter and the 351.5 metres tall chimney of Phoenix Copper Smelter in Baia Mare. But there are surely more.
Feel so free, list them up and post pictures. |

Cool pictures. Especially the picture of thunderstorm over Baia Mare is great!
How tall are the Constanta TV Tower, Bacau TV Tower, Ciruel Radio Tower and Balota TV Mast? When were they built? In communist era? Is or was Ciruel Radio Tower used as mast radiator for mediumwave transmission? It carries on its top a horizontal starlie structure which may be used for electrical enlengthening? I suppose there are further very tall chimneys in Romania. Romania is a land with much mining and many smelters and it has a mountainous topography. So there may be some further smelters using very tall chimneys ( that fume better can leave valleys) http://www.predavatel.eu/ mentions some two further very tall radio masts in Romania, situated at Iasi and Cluj-Napoca. How tall are these masts and when were they built? For own researches: which are the Romanian names for * radio mast * radio tower * mast radiator * broadcasting station ( also official designation) * TV Tower * Smelter * Power Station * Chimney |

Former Westerholt Power Station near Gelsenkirchen had a 337 metres tall chimney
However, it was demolished in 2006 Today the tallest chimney of Germany is situated at Buschhaus Power Plant ( height: 308 metres) Are there also towers of "unkonventional design" in appearance similiar to the following in Romania Free-standing tower with mast guyed on the ground like Gerbrandy Tower in Lopik, Netherlands ![]() Towers with top-guyed pinnacle like Wavre TV Tower in Wavre, Belgium ![]() Blaw-Knox mast radiators like that at Vakarel, Bulgaria Guyed masts with crossbars like that at Saransk in Russia

Because Satu Mare is in the midle of a plain the building can be see from a big distance outside the city.I hope I will put some photos soon |

Do you not have more pictures ( if possible with height and year of construction) of structures taller than 100 metres in Romania?
Are there very high bridges and dams and very high electricity pylons ( e.g. for powerline crossing of Danube) in Romania? |

List of tallest structures in Romania
On http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...res_in_Romania an interesting list of the tallest structures of Romania is published. However, I do not agree with some entries. For example the mast of Feleac transmitter looks than 180 metres, so please check the height values given there.
