Wen karruba. Nagado nga tarong!

There were a lot of talong recipies featured. I think the "hidden talong" recipe was declared the winner in the cooking contest. Very cool concept. They removed the insides of the rounded talong and it served as a shell where they put the cooked talong dish (I think it was fried & resembled siomai) inside thus the hidden talong.

Great fiesta. That's how a town should celebrate.

Urdaneta officials should learn from this...

That song brings back sweet memories of childhood. My dad used to sing that to me...and my mom used to sing to me Ti ayat ti maysa nga ubing as a lullaby. WOW! I'm getting misty.

You must have been to the "newer" St. John's. Right next to it is the old St. John's which was destroyed in the earthquake of 1991 but is now fully restored and operational. They only celebrate a few masses there on sundays and I believe is closed the rest of the time. This original church has probably been around since the spanish era. This is where I was baptized many, many moons ago.

I have cousins who are Espinos[in Dagupan], then there seem to be local Pangasinense politicians who have the surname Espino.

Oi, I like the bibingka of Dagupan. Hehehe.

Nice! Rich colors. How come most of them are wearing orange? Shouldn't they be wearing purple & green to resemble talong?

I think that's what they were trying to avoid--they don't want to end up having the same purple color in their costume. They ended up having the same orange color instead hahaha Seriously, 3 groups lang yan. It's so happened na magkakapareho sila ng kulay. SAAA won the best in costume award and their costume is mostly purple.

Yup! After you visit the church, you can go and try the famous Calasiao Puto. Of course if there's puto then there is also kutsina.
