=== Some little facts about previous thread
1. The 3rd thread was started by me myself (on September 8, 2007), while the last to reply on that thread were PAW25694 (on January 18, 2007)
2. Previous thread got 14,396 hits (as February 8, 2008) and keeps increasing.
3. Previous thread is actually 5 months plus 18 days old. WHich is much slower (but also more HITS), than previous 2nd thread which is (only) 3 months old (but also least number of hits).
4. Thanx to some of our SSC forumers who has contributed to post in previous thread. And a big thanks for Pekanbaru Flickr, Panoramio, Multiply community, and some blogger, who posted a lot of photos a lot on the internet. And very big thanks to FITRI ZANDRA, Kaskus User who loves to post so many Pekanbaru photos ....We all love you, kak !!!! And especially MULTIPLY user who posts a lot of good pics these days. I LOVE TO BE PART OF YOUR COMMUNITY (walau gak bisa ikut KOPDAR)

yes.. Pekanbaru only needs more taller buildings in CBD, about 20-30 storeys height will be just fine and will create much better skyline

personally... I really expect Pekanbaru to be the leading city in Sumatera or west part of Indonesia rather than Medan or Palembang

Medan and Palembang can become very big metropolis in the future as what Jakarta did in the past, .... but the center of future nice living and state of the art civilization will be best if it is Pekanbaru

Pekanbaru's position right in the center of Sumatra will be the perfect balance of this island from great urban's economic force in the north (Medan) and another great urban's economic force in the south (Palembang)

...btw I also like the city name "PEKANBARU" (=new town) which resemble.... always offer and provide something new HOPEFULLY

Good, IMO KUCHING is the best city to live in Malaysia (and South East Asia)... it's big but not so crowded (just like Pekanbaru)... has nice design skyscrapers but the tallest one only 30 storeys... easy access, not polluted, well-provided infrastructures, clean environments, place of good universities/colleges, wide and good roads, lots of green spaces all around the city... and very sophisticated international airport

....and to getaway from the modern city living, we only need 15-30 minutes to go to mountains (high lands) resorts, densed tropical forests or beautiful pristine beaches...

One more thing, Sarawak (for Malaysia) is just like Riau (for Indonesia)... they both are ones of wealthiest states (provinces) in each country, oil-rich and plenty of other natural resources...

LOOK, all just suits to PEKANBARU (in near future, hopefully).
