Does anyone know what phase the Noida CBD is to be built in?

The city centre (CBD) was planned to come in sector 25a and 32 in Noida but there hasn't been any recent news on it. I am sure you're asking this regarding the noida tower right?

anyways, this news might interest you - The Noida authority plans to develop a commerical complex on 94 acres of land next to the Noida-Gr.Noida expressway and they closed the tendering process on March 3. They've set no limit to the number of storeys proposed in the bid and have stressed that they'd like to go vertical. Let's see what they select.

For this reason, he emphasised, the expansion of the new complex will be vertical, not horizontal. Noida Authority officials said the building’s height is still open for discussion: while the minimum limit is 100 feet (about 10 storeys), anything above that has been kept open. The maximum height, officials said, can be up to 100 storeys.

CM inaugurates capital's second Dilli Haat

NEW DELHI: A disabled and eco-friendly spacious Dilli Haat was inaugurated on Sunday by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in Northwest Delhi.


Pitampura Dilli Haat is a riot of colours and has a Metro track as a backdrop

Speaking on the occasion, Dikshit said " Dilli Haat showcases India's traditional crafts and gives an opportunity to the visitors to peep into the rich heritage of the country." The second Dilli Haat in the national capital at Pitampura is spread over 7.2 acres and boasts of 108 craft stalls, bigger amphitheatre, more food kiosks, in all a visitor's delight.

Its connectivity with Delhi Metro just make it purposeful place of happening where people could shop and enjoy, Tourism Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said.

CM opens cancer centre in East Delhi

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit inaugurated a new SMH-Curie Cancer Centre, a unit of Healthcare Global Enterprises Limited, at Shanti Mukand Hospital in East Delhi on Saturday. The centre claims to be the first to launch Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) in North India.

Ascendas ties up with Dr Fresh for Gurgaon SEZ

Ascendas India Development Trust (AIDT), promoted by Singapore-based Ascendas, on Wednesday announced a tie-up with Dr Fresh Healthcare Services of Dr Fresh Inc, US and Burmans of Dabur Group, to develop a 62-acre IT special economic zone and residential and commercial space in Gurgaon.

The project is estimated to cost Rs 1,500 crore and AIDT will hold 51 per cent stake in the project. The project will have over 4.27 million sq ft of IT space and 2.6 million sq ft is planned for residential and commercial space.

Ascendas President and CEO Chong Siak Ching said, “We are pleased to partner Dr Fresh in setting new benchmarks for business space to mark our investment in North India. The Gurgaon development is yet another example of our continued focus and commitment to India and our clients.”

Korean cos keen to set up hub in Gurgaon

CHANDIGARH: A delegation of Korean companies on Wednesday met the Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and evinced interest to set up a hub at Gurgoan in the state.

In 2005, the chief Minister had been to Korea and had invited Korean entrepreneurs to invest in the state, with the assurance that his government would provide all necessary assistance.

Today, while reassuring the delegation of every cooperation, Hooda urged the entrepreneurs to form business partnerships with the state by setting up manufacturing park, business park, or technology park, an official spokesperson said.

The Chief Minister also directed the state Financial Commissioner Industries P K Chaudhary to look into the issue of setting the hub, the spokesperson added.

He said so far, 36 technical and financial collaborations have taken place with Korean companies bringing in an investment of Rs 280 crore.

On their part, the Korean delegation said they would come up with proposals for making investments in the state, for which the hub would act as a gateway.

The proposed Korean Hub would have headquarters of Korean companies under one roof.

Noida to sell 12 hotel plots worth Rs 1,500 cr

A month after it pulled off the country’s largest land auction at a record Rs 5,006 crore, Noida appears all set for another round of fierce bidding. The Noida Authority would invite, next week, bids for 12 hotel plots worth at least Rs 1,400-1,500 crore, and real estate majors, including DLF and Parsvnath, may participate in the bidding process.

“Of the 12 plots, five are for five-star hotels, another five for three-star hotels and two for four-star hotels. The reserve price has been fixed at Rs 77,000 a sq. m. We have already sold 100 forms and the response is quite strong,” a senior official said.

A new look for Palika

Bazaar to be converted into a mall; to have disabled friendly features

In the run up to the Commonwealth Games 2010, Delhi's Palika Bazaar is to be given a facelift to make it resemble a mall with disabled-friendly features. The cost of the upgradation: around Rs 11 crore.

The Council of NDMC recently approved the proposal and a consultant to coordinate and provide for services such as air-conditioning, fire fighting and basic civil works will be appointed soon, an NDMC official said.

The work is likely to start six months from now and take about a year to complete, he said, adding this is the first development plan ever undertaken for the market.



"We've decided to upgrade the market into a mall, refurbish its air-conditioning, lighting system and the flooring. Previously, all markets that were upgraded were on road surface. Only this market can be converted into a mall. The idea is to upgrade it to international standards," he said.

The parking area adjoining the market will be upgraded simultaneously. The cost of this project is about Rs 2 crore. This work will be over by the year-end.

As part of the redevelopment plan, the market will have four escalators. There will be two escalators at Gate No I (one going up and one going down). There will also be two escalators in the central portion leading to the mezzanine floor The height of the two staircases in the central hall will be increased.



There will be two ramps at Gate No 2 and 7 for the handicapped. "This is being done keeping in view the revised norms for the handicapped. We have also proposed that the ramp should be smooth and disabled friendly. Toilets will also be upgraded. There will be special toilets for the handicap," the official said.

The proposal includes upgradation of the airconditioning and the fire fighting and fire detection systems. "We are also going to redo the flooring, wall cladding and the ceiling and provide for signages," the official said, adding corrogated fibre sheets will be used, cladding of the shops will be in aluminum composed panels. Signages in flagsheets and vitrified tiles for flooring have been proposed.

As for the security system in the market, close-circuit televisions will be provided. Tendering is already over. Work on this will be completed this year, the official said.

There will be five trade zones. Each shop will be earmarked through the colour scheme, he said. As for the upgradation of the parking area, a consultant has already been appointed and his report is ready. The estimation is in process, the NDMC official said. There are plans to install an electronic parking guidance and management system. The proposal is to give smart cards to vehicle owners. It will be a unidirectional system and the various slots will be displayed on the screen. However, the capacity will remain the same at 1,075, he added.

Palika Bazaar was set up in 1978. It comprises more than 300 shops. The upgradation of the market comes close on the heels of similar work undertaken for markets in Janpath and the Momo Market at Yashwant Place.

The place is a good place to shop when I visited Delhi back in 1999. The place did need a revamp and im glad is getting the attention it deserves.
