52. Bidu Megalithic Statues, Central Sulawesi. Nobody really knows how old the Bada megaliths are, or who made them, or even why they're there. They probably date from the first millennium AD, but this figure is fairly debatable, depending on which scientist you consult. The locals don't have a clue – 'They've always been here,' is the most common response if you ask someone where the statues came from – and all this adds to a wonderful sense of mystery. Even more interestingly, all the objects in the area are made from a type of grey stone of which there are no deposits in the near vicinity, so work that one out; these megaliths are huge, heavy, and in the middle of nowhere, a long way from where they should be. There are 14 statues in total, plus many large stone vats scattered along the 15km valley.

57. Minangkabau cuisine, originated from Minangkabau people in West Sumatra. Spiciness is a characteristic of Minangkabau food, and the most commonly used herbs and spices are chili, turmeric, ginger and galangal. Meals commonly consist of steamed rice, a hot fried dish and a coconut milk dish, with a little variation from breakfast to dinner. The uniqueness of Minang food is the use of coconut milk in almost 90% of the cooking. It makes the dish creamy and brings out the taste of the spices. Some famous Minangkabau foods are Rendang, Gulai, Sate Padang, Sambal Balado, etc. Not recommended for sensitive stomach .

The uniqueness of a Minangkabau restaurant is all food selection are spread on your table. You only pay what you touch. You would not be charged for what you don't consume which are then passed on to the next customers.

59. Weh Island, Aceh. Weh is a beautiful island located at the north western tip of Sumatra. It presents the western most part of the Indonesian archipelago - the world's largest, stretching some 4.000 km to the east. The great attraction of this small island is its scenic beauty. Weh's rugged terrain, rocky caves, harbour views, hillside lookouts, marvellous beaches, and sleepy traditional villages all attest to these. The island of Weh is surrounded by other smaller islands including Klah, Rubiah, Seulako, and Rondo. Together, all these islands cover an area of 154 square kilometers with the population concentrated on the main island of Weh. Among the smaller island, Rubiah is the most well known. This small 17 Ha island was once the site of a special hospital for psychic therapy, and thereafter an important location of quarantine for Indonesian Muslims performing their pilgrimage of Hajj to Mecca. Since then this tiny island has been made famous by the spectacular coral reefs that surrounded it.

62. Lake Gunung Tujuh, Jambi. Climbing Mount Kerinci (3805 m - the highest volcano of Indonesia and highest peak in Sumatra) in Kerinci Seblat National Park is a great experience for professional climbers but it's hard to climb for amateurs. Near to Mount Kerinci, there is mountains called Mount Tujuh (Seven Mountains). It has seven (tujuh) peaks, of which only three have been climbed. Mount Tujuh has a large caldera lake at its centre, Lake Gunung Tujuh. Lake Gunung Tujuh is Southeast Asia's highest Lake. This beautiful lake, makes your hard effort to climb worth it.

64. Bromo Mountain: Sea of Sand, East Java. The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park covers some 800 square kilometers in the centre of East Java. At its northern end is the spectacular Tengger Caldera, Java's largest, with its 10 km barren desert-like sea of sand of Bromo. Within the caldera rise the deeply fissured volcanic cones of Batok and Bromo, the latter is still active with a cavernous crater from which smoke blows skyward. Temperatures at the top of mount Bromo range about 5 to 18 degrees Celsius . To the south is a rolling upland plateau dissected by valleys and dotted with several small scenic lakes, extending to the foot of Mount Semeru, a towering grey forest-skirted cone dominating the southern landscape. Tengger sandy area has been protected since 1919, and its believed to be the only conservation area in Indonesia, even probably in the world possessing a unique ocean and sand at the attitude about 2000 m above sea level.
