The cost of the cars are dictated according to the specifications of Mercedes Benz... It's the cost of shipping out all of the materials to a factory in Iran employed with the most competent technicians in the home industry 'Top Khodro' as they call themselves... Hence he cost of the end price which is still cheaper than an importing it into Iran which has a tariff of up to 150% on the car...

As for the old models, manufacturers like Peugeot only make the deals for the older models to be manufactured... However such as the 206 Sedan, the Iranians are sometimes allowed to have their own influence on their manufactured vehicles...

The Japanese mostly have a current range of vehicles sold in Iran, probably with the best specifications available for the best Iranian build quality and price... (I would say that since I have a Nissan 4x4 in Iran lol)

Sky, Iran Khodro manufactures the 'Iranian national car', the Samand... It has been exported to tens of nations such as Belarus, Turkey, China, Russia, UAE, Syria, Venezuela etc. Some nations have actually made deals to manufacture the Samand domestically.

Most Iranian auto manufacturers are state owned...
