Which makes it hard to read the bus signs.
Anyway, nice front.

Thanks... the December sunlight is not very helpful for taking buses with such LEDs on 174. ):
And yes, the bodywork is uniquely bodied by local coachbuilder Soon Chow (not to be confused with SC Auto). But sadly this bus will only have 2 more weeks on 174 as it is likely to be pulled out. |

That's kind of sad to hear, out of all the new buses roll out by both SMRT and SBS. The Volvo was the nicest and can I say coolest looking bus to be introduced and the bodywork was locally made was even more impressive. That will probably dismissed the idea that Singapore's company are not creative though to be honest at first glance and without reading from the internet, I thought it was some design by a foreign company.
Any idea SBS going to introduced it (I believe it is a demonstrator) and is the interior the same as the Scania? If that's the case I rather have the Volvo one rather than the Scania one, look more nice and probably a good "show-off" bus for SBS.

We have no idea if there are any orders on Volvo B7RLE's, but based on precedents, demonstrators usually do not have orders following them.
If SBST bought B7RLE's, I'd put my money on using the same bodywork from Gemilang that is used on the Scania K230UB's. The Soon Chow bodywork is more expensive but that was Volvo's choice (the bus does not belong to SBS Transit yet, and may never be). |

Anyway the front can also be spotted on newer Hippo OpenTop buses, if you notice carefully. They are also bodied by Soon Chow.

Manufacturers do make integral chassis with body, but this is not popular.
Even our local private hire buses are mostly bodied by SC Auto, if you notice. |
